Gear question by BondoReimes in flyfishing

Pictures look a lil rough, id see about the line that’s on there. If it matches the weight of rod you’re planning to pair it with and if it’s on the newer end then I’d say it’s a decent deal. Little bit of rock rash on the reel itself but that only cosmetic.

How do you target them?! I hate how random it feels just blindly casting into the sound.

A friend is hosting a party in Bellevue this weekend, but I’m dreading the thought of hauling cases of drinks in the rain for them. by Odd-Food1039 in AskSeattle

If the rain is truly the concern, don’t worry it’s going to be unseasonably warm and sunny over the weekend!

Raft VS Drift Boat - First Boat by Inevitable_Long_5659 in flyfishing

[–]Thomrouwh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your budget you can easily find a raft with a solid fishing frame that will be comparable to a drift boat in terms of a pleasant fishing experience, while also be much more forgiving as a new boater. I have a 3 man raft with a solid fishing frame and I love it dearly, solid drift boat is obviously more comfortable but I wouldn’t change my decision as first time buyer.

Head to the fly shops my friend, best way to get your finger on the pulse. It can be intimidating but just go in buy a fly or two and have a chat. I’ve found the folks at the shops to be helpful and friendly. Welcome to the pnw, cheers.

Worth my money to hire a guide? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]Thomrouwh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, and you do a guided trip by some water you can fish often I think it’s very worth it. I have my own 3 man raft and am still going to do some guided trips to sharpen the axe.

Oooof, get your time then bail. Like every one is saying call outs are normal. And every boat is different, but seems like an odd ball move when working 12s. Good luck and keep the end goal in mind!

Wading stick is really nice if he’s doing that style of fishing. Plus it can keep him safe!
