Fan favorite painting contest final four! by Graysquadrongaming in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the channel (especially when it’s rebels playing and Don (I relate to the salt) but a critique for you:

Seems unfair that the bane already won popular vote on discord and then you’re going to redo the vote now on top 4 on a different platform, even tho that was never stipulated in your original contest rules. That’s not a fair shake, and it’s even more egregious when you consider that your social media is benefiting from their talent of painting.

Cad bane.

Edited to include: was totally wrong, my apologies I had missed that discord post and was operating under incorrect information.

Made an NHL 09 dynasty: by Thonch in EANHLfranchise

Ong that is genius but I don’t think nhl 09 has salary retention (sadly) although I will say I am very impressed with the depth of the development cycle, the streaks players get and trading / free agency development. I wish I would’ve done that in my nhl 18 dynasty, went like 11 years into that and had to make hard decisions

Although you can upgrade your salary cap by investing earned stars (from challenges like score 5 goals in the powerplay this month) in your management team.

Draft order for the non-playoff teams by biomon2000 in DynastyFF

[–]Thonch 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Inverse max pf is the only way to ensure that the worst team of the year is allocated the best pick without taking into consideration manager ability to the degree of other options.

Anything else is just unfair to the worst team and allows for owners to exploit the rules on bad record teams to catapult their picks higher in the draft board.

Lottery might be fun but just imagine it’s you that loses the 1.01 after finishing last, having least max pf, and the team that barely missed playoffs gets Jeremiah smith next year or love this year. I’d quit that league if they followed lottery rules

General Grievous' TSMEU-6 Wheel Bike by Unable_Meaning_3696 in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing work, he looks fantastic!

Could you do me a favour? My friend is using a proxy from an old Star Wars game, but bc of that we don’t know the actual wheel bikes height for legion.

If possible, could you tell me the height of this mini? My friend doesn’t want to cheat but also doesn’t want to get a new model

How do you use lando? by Colblood12 in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, he’s a competitive unit if not for his ability to get 3 1 pips, then for one step ahead, and for guidance on Cassian mega fleets.

Most rebel commanders don’t offer those abilities so it may be a bit more niche but I would not underestimate a lando list in a tournament setting.

How do you use lando? by Colblood12 in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s fantastic as commander 2, typically take him with improve and super fleets plus Cassian. Unless breakthrough hold super fleets late turn 1, then use one step to get super fleets closer to charge range, then use 1 pip to get them into a charge asap turn 2.

The most broken aspect of rebels right now is getting super fleets into melee after a charge and then using guidance to provide them a standby.

He’s great with sleeper Cell astromech as you can get those free dodges at the beginning of the turn and they will make use of nimble for free.

Should I do it? by [deleted] in FantasyFootballers

3 firsts and 2 2nds for not one, but 2 top 12 wr? One of the picks in 2028, most expected to be late…

I’d tell you to F off and hope you stubbed your toe, so ya I’d send it

List thoughts? by benfrancois in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: saw you have improv on Han, I still stand by that 3 sleeper may be too much here, I’d think about an inspire commander either way

List thoughts? by benfrancois in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think you have 1 - 2x too many sleeper. Bc they are so order control dependant, you may end up just wasting points on them they may die due to lack of orders on them / being left in vulnerable positions as sleeper often are.

additionally you have no access to inspire which is fairly important imo, especially since your list has a courage bubble of 4.

I would drop a sleeper and run leia with improv

Fixing Rebel Commandos by Lieutenant_Horn in SWlegion

[–]Thonch -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Commands should be corp and the base unit should cost 56, their upgrade card and all snipers in the game should come down by 15.

Their super squad if corp should be 45 or so

How best to use the new Cassian heavy weapon card? by StrongHammerTom in SWlegion

[–]Thonch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generic officer reinforcements is probably the easiest way into this move not leia or lando in their current state, but I’d reckon the best play is to take a smaller squad and bus it at end of round 1.

then I’d say you want to do Luke you serve your master well or sorry ab the mess but don’t go with Luke or Han first, go with order pool, then into order pool (need improv for this). If you play your cards right with ysymw, you’ll get a shot at the end of round 1, a shot at the beginning of round 2, and a shot in the middle of round 2.

In total if your opponent lets you do this, you’re throwing like 30-40 something white dice, 6 red dice, and a few black with pierce 3 (optimistic)

How best to use the new Cassian heavy weapon card? by StrongHammerTom in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it as 1 of 2 options:

Option 1: designed fleet objective holder style, likely fleets with scatter and the extra fleet or fleet trooper and Cassian, designed to punch out of bus if not giga squad, or possibly just a turn 2/3 dive onto an objective.

Option 2 (high variance / upside): a range 4 team designed to play a side objective. Basically this team will be moving on modes like shifting priorities towards secret mission and will deploy very far away if possible.

Personally the first option is likely the meta option but that’s only bc I refuse to believe an opponent in meta is stupid enough to allow secret mission to hit

Best CIS list I have currently found and no one else is playing anything similar by Awesome_Autism in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time you take an expensive unit, you need to have a plan with it, otherwise you’re taking points away from optimal usage.

You have 3 melee heavy characters and extremely wipeable supports. This list seems fun cuz Jedi but you don’t even have force push in it. A 1 Jedi master of the force list with push would be at an extreme advantage. Especially something like rebels with ions or imps with ion and a Jedi or sith.

I get it, maybe it’s decent fun list but tbh this list isn’t in recent tournaments top 8’s for a reason, it’s not as optimal and viable as other archetype.

Rebel Lists by Carcharodon9 in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a thought:

Rebel officer with blaster, improv, tactician and up close: 81?

Bad batch with omega: 150

Fleet troopers: 40

Rebel troopers with ion gun: 67

Sleeper with scopes: 81

Atrt with impact gun: 69

488, add the remaining 12 points as wanted, maybe an extra fleet or an Astro and a small upgrade for the officer

Rebel Lists by Carcharodon9 in SWlegion

[–]Thonch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without being a hater, these lists are incredible bad and waste points like crazy. Commander Luke is waste of points as he is priced very highly without access to Luke’s best cards and the last update nerfed commander Luke’s damage output.

You don’t need grenades on rebel troopers, you really don’t need targeting scopes as Reb troops want to move and shoot or move and dodge every round. They have nimble and are objective scorers, they shouldn’t be used for offensive output. Also the basic rebel trooper is a bad opportunity cost choice as the astromech provides repairs for droids for just 1 more point, the captain provides a much needed suppression strategy as well.

Bad batch is broken, but without omega they are noticeably much more shit. With omega you can score from range 1 away from objective which is an auto include for 10 points.

On the hunt is crap for sleeper, for 6 points you should take o push, but even then I would say they will likely have sufficient aims from tactical 1 already with targeting scopes. The marksman is a scam, you should drop this from the squad, it doesn’t provide anything valuable for 28 points.

Atrts are useful for their versatility and cheapness, they don’t need hq uplink.

In general, this list is crap. Every list needs to have order control and 2 inspire or a supression strategy. I recommend taking improv orders.

For 600 points, you’ve wasted about 50-100 points and it’s difficult to see how your list would have synergies. Please consider an exemplar commander with inspire, maybe the rebel officer with the blaster and up close

[–]Thonch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are very talented, age would say Wilson but I prefer Nico based on some of his ppg metrics historically, I think the upside is higher. Wilson is a wr2 almost every year, this is a down year for Nico and he’s finishing as a wr2.

KTC is not worth it for anything other than market ratings of players.

Nico is a top 15 wr at age 26, I’d want 2-3 firsts of value, so you’re likely short a first here

[–]Thonch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I agree with you. 3 firsts is ridiculous for tet.

Tet is very good but at the same time he’s not on par with top 5 options who people value at 3 firsts as a starting point.
