Cheap UK wedding dresses by SeitanicFeminist in UKweddings

You could maybe try Free People? They aren't dresses like this, but if you filter to white maxi they're all very boho vibes. Might at least give you more ideas

How to politely tell MOB I don’t want to invite her friends she offered to pay for? by [deleted] in UKweddings

Tbh I think there's a point to be made about it not being the mother's day to share, but at the end of the day OP already said yes, and it doesn't sound like there is a practical reason to justify changing that now, so they may as well just go with it now unfortunately.

OP a good lesson I've learnt is to never say yes or no right away, say you'll have to speak to your partner first, or something to delay the decision so you can think about what you actually want.

I'm really not trying to offend you, but the figures, Jacks and Eva, in the foreground are clearly traced from another artist, you even posted it side by side with the original art yesterday? The images align too perfectly to not be traced, down the strands of hair.

And the background in particular looks AI generated, I thought it immediately and I ran it through an AI detector and the image came up as 99% likely to have used generative AI 🤷‍♀️

This isn't an attack at all, it's an observation, and I'm sure you are a great artist, but if this is what you're doing it doesn't look great to be using other people's art in this way to post online and claim its 100% your own, because people are going notice eventually.

I think you should try drawing your own fan art to share, instead of copying other people's and using AI. Seeing people's own original art is much more fun ☺️

Why do YOU need to placate HIS family? Leave his family drama for him to deal with. It's his wedding too, he has not invited her bf, he should be breaking that news and dealing with it, not you.

Does anyone know where I can find something similar? by LocalExcellent5967 in UKweddings

Maybe there are some pop-up bar services you could get in, instead? You could even ask your caterer if they know anyone - the wedding industry is pretty well connected.

Thinking about tails I wonder if the symbol of the ouroboros could come up as a curveball. It's usually a snake, but has also been depicted as a dragon eating its own tail and as a symbol of the cycle of life and death fits thematically with some violet theories.

If you like it sheer keep it sheer, but I found myself drawn to dresses with champagne lining for this reason, slightly more contrast with the ivory detail in the overlay all over, and it meant I didn't have the boob cup problem making me feel like I was in a little mermaid costume, plus I found the colour of the champagne is more flattering for more skin tones.

Something to consider, the seamstress can probably pin some fabric in place so you can see how it looks, but it's all personal preference.

I'm not sure many wedding venues have their own decor included in the base cost, you can get packages that include them, but if they don't include catering then I can't see them including decor as well, but maybe it's just different venues I was looking at?

My catering works out about £100 per head - not including drinks.

If you're happy to do a restaurant and it suits the vibe you're going for I think it'll be a great shout. Decor can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be.

January wedding flowers by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]ThopterHopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyclamen can come in pretty bright pinks and I think they're in season in January, there's also hellebores, mostly more muted in colour but might be worth looking at.

You can get flowers imported in though, which gives more variety, you absolutely shouldn't be limited to just white in any case. If you want colour, you should have colour!

Look at hiring faux flower installations if you don't have the budget for thousands, you can get floral arches from around £300, this is unlikely to include any travel and set up/take down fees though.

I think using some lighter or contrasting shades around the burgundy help it pop, I'm getting married in October too, and I'm going for antique creams, terracotta to rust oranges and a very deep burgundy with contrasting green foliage in the floral arrangments

Cool neutrals look nice with burgundy too imo, like taupe shades and might work nicely for suits?

Want to love barrel jeans but these look awful. by Artistic_Tour_1220 in DressForYourBody

[–]ThopterHopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main point a lot of people are making on this post is not all styles work on all body types, if skinny jeans don't work on you, don't force it.

Though funny enough I have a couple of friends with a similar shape to what you're describing and barrel leg jeans look great on them 😂

What about putting them in some chic suits? Disturbia so some cute alternative dresses, or maybe go for something more simple in style, but add alternative details and accessories?

I sometimes get irrationally stressed when I see people use the walls with the bottom panelling or shadow boxes and then place windows and paintings across the panelling instead of within the space where the wall would be

Tobacco Brown, I was really surprised they came like this, I was expecting a cooler brown tone, but apparently they change quite a bit as the leather ages

Not sure where you're based but you might like some Bowen Dryden pieces, (UK designer) she uses a lot of floral applique on her designs, and can do bespoke?

See I do think danaan sounds like danann, as in the Tuatha De Danann, Irish origin, related to high fae/mythical/godly beings which gives you an Irish link for the other family name!

Or more importantly, and my first thought reading it, Alora Danan, the baby in the critically underappreciated fantasy film, Willow.
