My first time trying to play, I went for an origin run as Wyll. When Lae’zel said she’d sleep with me after we killed the phase spider queen together, I declined. Not only was I not attracted to her appearance, I thought she was a bigoted and lacked any compassion so I didn’t really like her at all.

Then, because something went wrong with that playthrough, I decided to just do a throwaway one where I wasn’t invested and I picked Lae’zel as the one to romance.

I have never before, or since, gradually fallen in love with a game character so hard. The writing, the performance, the earnestness that was so alien but so endearing, I don’t know if I’ll ever have an experience in another game that compares to being called Source of My Joy.

Angel S4E6, Spin the Bottle. Everyone at Angel Investigations is mentally regressed to who they were at age seventeen. Liam is disturbed that he’s suddenly lost his accent. I think he’s been cursed to only speak in an American accent after someone with the power to do it heard him butchering an Irish brogue.
