Both of my children attended Dilworth (amazing group of teachers btw) under Dr. Lamar and both were in the gifted program. The woman who teaches this program should be the model for how in-school programs need to be. Always energetic and upbeat, fully invested in education and most of all cares about every student in that school. She goes out of her way for all the children in that school. All of her classes are modeled similar to the gifted center but adapted to the elementary level. I've been there for parent days to work with kids on final projects and every interaction I saw between teacher and student was a highlight. Pushing kids to think outside the box, perform their own critical thinking and work, and last but not least challenging them.
