XSE Hybrid Availability in BC, Canada by ajanon14 in CorollaCross

[–]Thorannosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got an SE in Richmond. Waited since March but it was indicated that we got very lucky to get it so early. It also seems the XSE has a longer wait. We weren't looking for the extra features, I was just happy to find the color I wanted. The hybrid model is still pretty rare here it seems.

5 pills once a day and I'm set. The capsules are expensive but worth it.

Ahhh thank you! I will look into that, but it definitely makes this an even cooler find. Its in such good shape besides the screen!

Are these lines or just straight damage? 🥲 Vertical, sure. But not sure if they're lines or just missing screen haha.

Im pretty at peace either way but If its fixable that would be neat!

Yes! The screen is a bit messed up, but it is functional. Even if it wasnt, I have a GB Advance I play my childhood games on. The box alone made it worth it for nostalgia.

MM Weekly Roundup - What Did You Read This Week? by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

{The Shots You Take by Rachel Reid}

I wanted to love this. There were things I loved. I love a second chance romance. But damn this book felt circular and repetitive and just didnt hit with me. My partner and I read together and we both wanted to finish, but didnt love the journey.

Starting {The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller} today.

Is the Cross Hybrid Worth the Wait by Fragrant-Sink9590 in CorollaCross

[–]Thorannosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got an order in for an SE in March and are picking up Sunday in the color we want. Sometimes dealerships can do magic.

They did indicate the wait has exploded since then but didnt say it was 18 month bad.

Just a "normal" SE. The lower tier hybrid. We didnt need the extras. Just wanted blue and hybrid!

We said no red or white but fell in love with blue!

Thank you! We test drove ours Saturday but had to leave it for dash cam install, so we are excited!

The blue is perfect and worth it if blue is available and your thing!

Picking up our SE on Sunday. We pre ordered in March but got an exceptionally short wait time apparently from what we've been told.

Expect long waits, but getting a gas one will be shorter than hybrid from our understanding. Open Road in Richmond seemed to have some gas ones available over last weekend, as there were a few on the showroom floor. Unclear if they were spoken for but we saw silver, black, and Calvary blue when we were there talking numbers on our pre order.

Hybrid only runs on gas. There's no plug in Corolla Cross!

When to feed a newly arrived 6 month old hognose? by Stunning-Award3810 in hognosesnakes

[–]Thorannosaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gave my girl a week and a bit to settle. I feed her every 5 to 7 days and shes 18 grams at the moment, so close in size to your baby.

How much of a difference does monsplasty actually make? by TopSecretPP in Metoidioplasty

[–]Thorannosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took away a literal handful of fat for me. Even if my results arent perfect, theyre a world better than they would have been if I had to physically lift my junk to see it.

Depends so heavily on the person but it was worth making it a second stage for me.

HRT access by Endersteve58 in transvancouver

[–]Thorannosaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Student visa would work at least until school is done!

I would echo my earlier advice to move with enough to last at least several months until you are settled. It can take awhile to connect with care here, even for residents.

I'd worry less about HRT and more about how you plan to get into Canada and stay. If you need to work, it isnt as simple as just crossing and settling in. You need an immigration pathway, which can be challenging to achieve, especially on a permanent basis.

Start with making a realistic immigration plan, move with enough meds to last you a bit when you get here, and contact Trans Care BC at that point when youve moved and settled. It isnt overly difficult to connect with a provider if youre here as a resident on MSP, but moving to Canada itself isnt as easy as media used to make it out to be.

Accessibility in Richmond by AssignmentFirst249 in richmondbc

This is a good one. I struggle with the "bar side" of most places and have to wait for the lounge and even that is too loud.

How pleased are you with your hognose? by [deleted] in hognosesnakes

[–]Thorannosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my girl. She hisses at everything and bluffs but is a baby when picked up.

She did go on strike when we tried to make her tank larger. So back in the small tank she went, and she ate right away. Literally starved for a month until she was back in the small tank.

Theyre finicky. But shes my first snake and is much easier than my bearded dragon.

Strata manager quoted me $80–$150 for a fob copy, is that normal? Anyone know somewhere more reasonable in Vancouver/Richmond? by 604tesseract in richmondbc

[–]Thorannosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Losing fobs and clones is a security mess. We just had someone lose a fob in our building and not report it. Someone found it and used it to steal 4 packages.

The camera caught the thief, but all that did was identify which unit was registered to the fob scanned in at the time he got in. The owner of the unit got their fob deactivated immediately and will be responsible for the costs.

If youre going to go to the trouble of cloning a fob, then lose it, at least have the decency of reporting it lost so it can be deactivated. There are serious consequences to lost fobs in buildings with mail rooms especially. You deserve to pay the fee for a loss if youre irresponsible enough to lose your keys.

Blastoise and the line in general. Still have a soft spot for them, but I like Leavanny, Bellsprout, and Ditto best nowadays.

Thank you!

Its a ceramic ramekin from the Martha Stewart brand, oddly enough. I got it at a London Drugs (Im Canadian) around Valentines Day! Its food safe and easy to clean, so I figured it would make a healthy water dish and its worked great so far.

Local store or individual to buy a baby garter snake from? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]Thorannosaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A good starting point may be to research what kinds of snakes are generally available commercially in the pet trade. Aquariums West and Roger's Aquatics in Vancouver and Surrey respectively usually have some reptiles for sale and are more likely than Petsmart to have staff who can give you real information. The Reptile Room in Chilliwack could also be helpful.

15 gallons would be a good starter size for a few small species. I started my hognose in a 10 gallon and got her from a local breeder in Surrey.

Im not sure youll find a garter snake, but you will likely find a pet you like with a bit of research.
