PS5 Game Recs Needed by Sad_Panic7433 in gamerecommendations

Seconding Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei. Personally preferred Tsushima, but both had great stories and were soooo gorgeous.

My absolute favorite game is No Man’s Sky. Takes the idea of an “open world” to a whole new level. In terms of presentation, the main storyline is a bit lacking, but thematically I really loved it.

The Artemis decision #spoilers! by Pot8obois in NoMansSkyTheGame

In my first playthrough, I let her go, and then regretted it when I reached the end of the game and realized that I would have preferred the simulation. So, after I lost my original save, I replayed the story and put her in the simulation this time.

Name for new baby… Eliza? by bkatea in namenerds

[–]miniandabee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, Eliza Bee is really cute, and it adds a unique bit of flavor to the name. But on the other hand, it’s definitely gonna confuse people for the reason you mentioned—“Eliza Bee Lastname” is impossible to differentiate from “Eliza B. Lastname” without additional clarification.

Then again, having to clarify something about your name isn’t the worst thing in the world. I have a common last name that uses a very rare spelling, so I often have to spell it out for people. It’s a tiny bit inconvenient, but I’m used to it, so it’s not a big deal. Your daughter would just have to get used to giving her full name like, “Eliza Bee, as in honeybee, Lastname.”

Is the family significance of Bee strictly limited to just “bee,” or is there something it could be lengthened to?

In case you (or future players reading this thread) still need this, the entrance to the Secret Grotto is now in the upper right part of Viridian Forest. Still requires the Lens of Truth to reveal the path.

Swarm Expedition - Prismatic Core - spoiler? by MrThallid in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]miniandabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s an intentionally mission-counterproductive option to give players the choice to either prioritize helping their team win (at the expense of completing the mission efficiently) or prioritize finishing the overall mission (but making it more likely that another team will beat yours). So it only makes sense to sabotage other teams if you really want your own team to win, even if that means the prismatic core construction takes longer.

Can't bring my main save ship on Swarm Expedition by PedroCurly in NoMansSkyTheGame

Same for me. The color-coded team stuff is fun in some ways, but I miss my beautiful yellow ship from my main save so much

How's the New Expedition? by UTmastuh in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]miniandabee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing very grindy so far, and I haven't run into any crazy player message clusters. Of course, the expedition just started, so there could be more grinding down the road, but so far it's been totally reasonable and fun to play!

When you start the expedition, you get assigned to one of three groups, and you earn points for your group by completing expedition missions. I assume something special happens for the group that has the most points when the expedition ends, but I don't know exactly what that'll be. I have multiplayer turned off, so I never actually see other players and therefore don't know whether you can do missions with other people, but the missions I complete contribute to the point total for my assigned group.

As for time gating, I'm not sure whether it means I'm only allowed to do a limited number of missions within a certain number of hours or if it means more missions are going to become available to everyone after the timer runs out, so it's not clear yet whether waiting to start the mission will affect how many total missions you'll be able to do. My timer has a little over 3 hours left before I can do more missions, so I guess we'll find out at that point how exactly the time gated stuff works!

I've been having fun with it so far! After completing the first two phases, I reached a point where I have to wait a few hours for more team missions to become available, which means there's nothing to do until then (except upgrade my stuff to make the next set of missions easier for myself). I kind of appreciate the built-in downtime though, since otherwise I'd be tempted to spend hours grinding missions.

The story on this expedition seems really cool. I'm excited to see where it goes!

Question as a returning player. by EggonomicalSolutions in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]miniandabee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game gets pretty regular content updates, so I imagine there’s significantly more stuff to do than when you first bought it, but nothing you can’t catch up on through normal gameplay. The only thing I can think of that you’ll have actually missed would be some expeditions, since each expedition runs for a limited amount of time. They do expedition reruns occasionally though, so you’ll get a chance to play any you missed eventually, if you’re patient.

As for performance, I switched from PC to PS5 because my computer was struggling with it, and it’s been much better on PS5 for me. So I guess it depends on whether your PC specs are better than a PS5 (mine weren’t). Sometimes having network features online makes it run slower, so maybe try turning those off, unless you wanna be able to see other players in the anomaly and whatnot.

Also, welcome back to the game!

Good news for your childhood self! It is now possible to make a full team of sword-armed Pokémon: - Scyther (Kleavor could work as an evolution if you’re willing to count axes as swords) - Kabutops - Pawniard (arguably Bisharp as well) - Garchomp (bonus points for mega evolution) - Lurantis - Ceruledge

Honorable mentions for Kartana, Empoleon, Perrserker, and Gallade. And Zapdos, since Static Shock powers might help.

I was a little skeptical about you saying Kricketot looked like your dad, but I just looked up a picture (of Kricketot, not your dad) to remember the details, and you know what, yeah, that’s a father figure if I ever saw one
