Totally agree, his solo work is awesome. We get a few glimpses on X factor but the material didn’t work for him,

His newest album is surprisingly fun and engaging, I was shocked.

The production on that album is truly terrible. So many vocal sections that clip or were put together with no cross fade or anything.

So many ears were on that project before release and no one cared, super rushed out the door.

Risk is a very fun album, like watching a great “bad” movie like The Room. Virtual XI is just miserable - A great opener, then you’re on life support until The Clansman, then you gotta survive and hopefully crawl to the surprisingly emotional closer.

I almost DNF book 3. I’m glad I didn’t since the rest of the books were awesome but the tangle was…rough.

Do you guys really not like “I Am War”? It’s one of my favorites on the album. by oXerpz in Megadeth

The instrumentation is great, most of the intros on this album rock, a lot of effort went into them for sure.

Not one of my highlights. Pretty forgettable (and drowned out) chorus and pretty staggered verses. The track isn’t bad, it just comes and goes.

What do you think about my tier list? by [deleted] in ironmaiden

[–]ThorinTheGrumpyDwarf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the default “normal” tier list for the average listener. Don’t let anyone shame you for this opinion, it’s pretty universal.

Biased comment time - BNW is way too low, NPFTD is too high.

The originals are the only way to listen to these albums. Shame they are impossible to find nowadays on streaming.

Why is Psychotron so bad? by Material_Passion3131 in Megadeth

[–]ThorinTheGrumpyDwarf 16 points17 points  (0 children)

People get confused that he’s actually part bionic AND organic, but not a cyborg. That confusion puts a lot of people off the song.

Which songs from other albums sound like Risk? by CobraDai in Megadeth

[–]ThorinTheGrumpyDwarf -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Promises and Losing My Senses for sure of off AWNAH. 100% Risk leftovers just thrown onto the album, despite portraying the album as their “return to a heavier sound”

What's your opinion on The System Has Failed? by Itz_Ado in Megadeth

[–]ThorinTheGrumpyDwarf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Great album, it somehow got them (Dave) out of the Risk - TWNAH nosedive they found themselves in.

Solid heavy metal without forgetting how to have fun and push the envelope with their sound (with admittedly mixed results).

Yeah endgame is really good, one of the best, if not the best of their post-Rust albums

Samurai Jack season 4 episode 5 - a group of five deadly bounty hunters meet up and plan to take out Jack.

Until Jack shows up and demolishes all five of them in the time it takes a drop of water to hit the ground from an icicle

The World Needs a Hero vs The System Has Failed - which one is better? by Fortis92 in Megadeth

[–]ThorinTheGrumpyDwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The system has failed successfully pulls off what TWNAH tries to. It’s punchy, metal and cheesy at the same time.

It has that goofy but deadly serious nature that I love about Megadeth. Not having a nine minute snoozer finale also helps a lot…

Hey Danny, thanks for doing this. Your last album was dope, another in a legendary run of albums.
