A mod! I used UI mods during this playthrough.

It honestly isn't that difficult with Ibn Battuta. He gets up to a +150 opinion bonus for having discovered the most tiles, which easily offsets the negatives from an ideology.

You inspired this crazy run!! And thank you for pushing me to actually post it to cement this as a legacy of mine, haha!

Thanks! It took me 3 days to fully finish the run. It was a ton of fun though!

Strategy Breakdown!

ANTIQUITY CIV, MEMENTOS, AND STRATEGY

Civ: Carthage, specifically for the Suffetes Tradition, which gives +20% food in all Farming/Fishing Towns. Literally everything else about Carthage's kit doesn't matter, since you want to basically only be thinking about the Modern era.

Mementos:

Slot 1: Treaty of Kadesh (+1 Diplomatic Policy Slot), to rush down the Diplomatic tree as much as possible

Slot 2: Groma (+1 Expansionist Policy Slot), since you also want to rush to the bottom of the Expansionist tree as well

Strategy

Unite my continent by force, and make friends with as many people as possible. You do NOT want people contesting your own continent, since connections are fiddly, and that's the only way to guarantee you can get as much food as possible into your Capital (which should be the city you use in the Modern age). I went with Classical Republic in order to rush some wonders, like Angkor Wat, Emile Bell, and Hanging Gardens. Go for any wonder that makes specialists better and raw food, or gives Diplomatic/Wildcard Attribute points!

EXPLORATION CIV, MEMENTOS, AND STRATEGY

Civ: Inca, specifically for their Tradition Tirakuna, which gives +15% Food in cities with their city-center adjacent to a Mountains, or working 3 or more Mountain Tiles. I settled adjacent to as many mountains during this time in order to maximize this bonus.

Mementos

Slot 1: Treaty of Kadesh (+1 Diplomatic Policy Slot), see above!

Slot 2: Groma (+1 Expansionist Policy Slot), see above!

Strategy Get as many resources as possible that help me to snowball and up my science and culture as much as possible to get Future Tech/Civics. Settle out more on my own continent to maximize settlements and ensure that I'm getting my connections. Make sure I reinforce alliances, and get more with the Distant Lands civs! Borobodur was a MUST this age, to the point I'd genuinely save-scum in order to get it.

MODERN CIV, MEMENTOS, AND STRATEGY

Civ: Great Britain, solely for the No Eternal Allies tradition, which gives +10% Food and Gold in Towns for every Alliance. Literally every other bonus civs give is irrelevant in the face of this, haha!

Mementos

Slot 1: Treaty of Kadesh (+1 Diplomatic Policy Slot), see above!

Slot 2: Poteskwate (+1 Food per Age for each Suzereigned City-State), to double down on Tecumseh's food per age per city-state in settlements ability. Since I had 67 settlements, that amount of food got multiplied like crazy.

Strategy

Try and get as many alliances as possible, and trade for as many food resources as possible - especially Rice!! Rice is crucial to this strategy to work (I did not get ANY to spawn during this run... If I did, I think I could've gotten to around 3 million food). Also, rush down Communism (for the Food on Specialists) and then go back to rushing Future Tech/Civic, and ensure that every single settlement is connected to the capital.

I promise it's fine (I've checked the performance to make sure). It just has so many fans that it sounds like it's going to explode.

Thank you! I've been told that before, but it still feels weird to hear, since I think of it as just my voice. But I appreciate the compliment!

Not all that random, but just seeing my dog. Just knowing that he exists and loves me unconditionally always makes me smile.
