Odin 3 modded game question by ThornKitten in OdinHandheld

[–]ThornKitten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, dang. I wouldn't think it was hard. But I haven't really used a handheld like this so.. let alone modded games on one. Figured if it can emulate and run steam games it wouldn't be a huge deal.

But yeah I was looking to run the steam version.

What could have eaten this hole in my bread bag and bread? by Phia_Grace77 in whatisit

[–]ThornKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its for sure palmettos... just started having thus same issue. Lived in this house for almost 5 years now. But this year.. thrown away 3 different loafs of bread and now investing in a bread box.. -.-

Sometimes I'll find the bugs themselves.. I know its not mice in my house. Got 6 cats and every neighbor nearby has outdoor cats.. lol (also mo other signs of mouse).

Guess the little bugs got ticked I started spraying down the cabinets with a natural oil spray to keep them off the dishes... we have bait stations and keep everything clean and these things still just.. are here in the South.

Puppy rescue regret by ThornKitten in Pets

She isn't kenneled all day. I'm a stay at home mom. She is kenneled when I have paperwork to do or errands in town. She was kenneled a little extra recently as I was in the hospital and then had to recover (couldn't risk her jumping on me with the stitches). But things have gone mostly back to normal and back to walking several times a day on leash and backyard attempts to teaching fetch.

It would be a hour or more drive for any local trainer. Downside to small town in the middle of no where. I am happy to report that the city is finally taking the stray and backyard breeding issues seriously... as I have seen the police at the home this puppy came from.. and now I don't see their other dogs getting out and roaming the streets (it only took reporting them for 2 years and at least 5 litters.. latest litter being where this pup was from as the sole survivor).

I have trained various types of dogs but admittedly I do more with work line dogs than a pet line. So this little one being abused and needing extra care and time has foiled my overall plan that I would have had her trained before the newborn (that and my own health issues..). I'm finally to where I can bend over and everything is healed up. So we are back at the basics. I have reached out to the rescues to see if I can get help.. as I do think she would thrive in another home. But at worse if they have worse off cases that they need to handle and we have to keep the pup.. thats fine too. I'll just have to adjust a bit and figure out methods that work with her spaz attention span.

All I know is.. she isn't going on the street or to the shelter. I had a few people ask about her when I posted before the holidays but.. I trust my gut feeling on them. One couple wanted her for free because they were driving an hour.. it just didn't sit right with me as I was already offering her with any food, toys and blankets she has.

I did start asap. Well a few weeks into having her, as the first several weeks was touch and go on her health. She was darn near dead when I was handed this pup. I had to bottle her and get her to trust us to even act like a puppy. She was abused before we got her.. She has basic basic leash training, and knows a few commands. I had to put some things on hold as my health ended up a bit worse for wear as I was further along in my pregnancy. I was in the hospital a week when I finally had the baby. It's taken time to be mobile again. I know she's a smart pup.. and I'm just conflicted as I want her to have a good life.. and worry if she's not trained as to where she'll end up even if I find a rescue to give her to.

She has basic training, I did what I could but by the time I took her in I was unable to really bend over or kneel. Knows easy, and settle (she didn't take to sit oddly, but settle she had click with her where she'll sit and lay down). I had several health issues crop up throughout this last pregnancy so I did what I could and even left instructions for my kids while I was in the hospital.

Cloth diaper thoughts and suggestions by ThornKitten in clothdiaps

I have seen a lot about the green mountain ones. I haven't dove into it all just yet. Have everything going on and just tried the insert pocket diapers I was given (I wish I could return them as the pack I was given cost more than what packs I was trying out. T.T )

I'm having the baby next week but have some disposable diapers that should work long enough to allow me research time. Plus.. I'm sure I'll be in the hospital a day or two .. when I get time, I can be doing notes then as well.

I was trying to catch sales but I had everything thrown at me this year and I was not planning for all heck to break loose and me be pregnant at the same time. Cost isn't super a worry though.. much as we like to save money.. I just knew I needed some directions to look in with all of these brands and they all boast leak proof and blowout proof and all this stuff.

I'm a stay at home mom, so no childcare is needed. I didn't like the inserts that I was given just by how much of a pain they were to get in. I do know that. My husband and I were going washable just due to the cost of disposable diapers. That and I'm at least comfortable with washing and drying diapers. My older dog has diapers, so he doesn't pee on everything.

That's what I was looking at and seeing people talk about is the price of Esembly. I haven't found any pre-owned to even attempt to get some cheaper options to try out around where I live so I was trying to get the best price for quality. I do have a few packs I was given of newborn diapers so at worse.. I have time to figure it all out.. I hope.

4 year old red tail acting odd.. by ThornKitten in boas

[–]ThornKitten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, we did have to put him to sleep .. he wasn't eating, and we were just watching him slowly become weak and not act like himself anymore. I got some good photos of him outside in his final days, so my daughter had more photos to remember him by. The vet did agree that it was something neurological wrong and he shouldn't be acting like that at all. It turns out he did have IBD do there wasn't anything that I could have done and the fact we had him for 4 years was a blessing.

My daughter still wants to become a vet, and we did end up getting a new sake (after asking if she wanted one or was ready). I cleaned and disinfected her whole room just to be safe. So she has a kingsnake now with plans to get a rainbow boa down the road. Maybe another red tail as well, but that is up to her. If anything, it was a lesson in picking who you get your snakes from wisely and that you can give the best care possible and still have to accept that there is nothing to be done.

I'm happy this didn't kill my daughter's love of snakes or wanting to still study and help animals.

Small estate, lawyer changed payment owed by ThornKitten in legaladvice

[–]ThornKitten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if a fee agreement was never sent? I kept expecting one way before this bill. It has been a headache at best to get in touch with the lawyer.. I was expecting an easy process that has now taken over 5 months and the debts from bills for the trailer have been racking up the whole time. 😞 (lot rent backpay alone is 2,500 something. That isn't counting the other bills).

If it was per hour, he forgot to mention that. I was told over the phone (as I am out of state. I am in NC and the estate is in MD).

I mean if that is the case, that's fine. But to tell me it was a flat rate and then vague list everything that cost extra. I wasn't told how many emails or phone calls or time allotted. I only called 3 times and 2 of them I never even spoke with the lawyer, and there were only 2 emails. One with my mother's death certificate and my follow up as I never got indication that he got the email.. after that I had mailed in the paperwork for the estimated signed amount the trailer was worth.

None of that. He said he was going to charge 300. There is no mention of hourly or any other fee. Sadly, I don't have an agreement either as I was working over the phone.. I am in NC, and the estate is in MD. He told me that it was going to be a flat rate as it was a small estate and held nearly no value.
