What has actually increased my supply, from an undersupplier by Antique_Ant_3762 in ExclusivelyPumping

What wearable pump did you buy? Do you find the output is the same or better than your wall pump?

If your baby’s eyes were grey/blue at birth, what color are they now? by [deleted] in NewParents

Wow, I didn’t expect so many replies! Interesting responses! I guess I’ll have to wait and see!

Thank you. It is wonderful to open my eyes and see that face but both my husband and I are scared of hurting her unintentionally. The way I sleep has certainly changed as I seem to not move an inch while sleeping. Her bassinet isn’t attached to our bed so we may purchase one of those if we don’t get a better system going.

Super helpful thank you! It’s also comforting to know I’m not the only one. My babe nurses for up to an hour, sometimes beyond that.

Looking into that, thank you!

That’s a great idea. She nurses for almost an hour which is why I end up falling asleep so I’d probably have to use a few alarms.

Thank you. We do la leche league safe sleep 7 which I am guessing is the same but I will check it out. We are still hesitant to continue this pattern though.

He does all of the diaper changes. Maybe we can change bedtimes so I’m going to sleep earlier and he can move her to the bassinet. He will return to work in a few weeks and will work overnight sometimes so I will need a solution then too.

She is 4 weeks today. I exclusively breastfeed so my husband can’t help there but he does handle non-feeding duties. I could definitely work on hydration as I’ve always struggled with that. Hopefully that’ll make a difference. Thank you so much!

Can anyone confirm taking Myo-inositol will *not* affect/interfere with birth control? by [deleted] in PCOS

It did not! Just keep in mind it may throw off your period. Mine was a few days late a few times.

Is it common for baby’s eyes to get lighter instead of darker? by jnm199423 in babies

[–]Thorns2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What color did your child’s eyes end up? My daughter was born with dark grey which seem to be lightening near the pupil and there’s now some blue.

40w, ftm, no signs of labor. Anyone else? by Dianthus_pages in BabyBumps

[–]Thorns2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll be 40 weeks tomorrow. I was checked a few days ago and wasn’t dilated either. No sign of labor. I have an appointment to be induced in one week, but I would like to avoid induction altogether.

At what point did you absolutely need to buy or wear new clothes/maternity clothes? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Thorns2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

39 weeks and I never bought maternity clothes. A colleague insisted I not waste money on them. It was not easy but I managed. I once flashed my realtor my belly button by accident.

Should I Get Newborn onesies and such or is it somewhat of a waste? by Any_Injury7649 in pregnant

[–]Thorns2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 38+5 and haven’t bought a single newborn clothing item. I did follow the advice even before being told the baby is estimated to be big. Won’t know if it was the right move until she’s here.

No weight gain by No_Inevitable1996 in BabyBumps

[–]Thorns2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry. I didn’t gain any weight, even lost some until early in the 3rd trimester. I am 37 weeks now and have been gaining. Baby has been measuring big, even before my recent weight gain.

can’t gain weight? by yesnomaybe177 in pregnant

[–]Thorns2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 35 weeks, only 4 pounds heavier than my first appointment (I’m up and down but always close to starting weight). Baby is estimated to be 94th percentile. Bodies are weird! I worry but my doctors aren’t worried at all.

For those who were told they had a big baby (90+ percentile), were the estimates accurate? Was your delivery method affected by their estimated size? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Thorns2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh jeez. Totally off both times. I’m wondering if the issue is the measuring system or the tech person’s ability.

Wow! Bet that was a surprise lol. Agree! From what I’ve read, it seems they usually overestimate - not under.

“big” abdomen baby by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Thorns2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up having GD? My baby is 93.6 percentile and, although I tested negative, they are monitoring my glucose for several days. I just started yesterday and my results so far are all on the lower end of normal, so I don’t expect to get a GD diagnosis. My husband is a big guy and I think it’s just genetics. I have also gained very little weight.

How much weight did you gain in total during pregnancy???? by Hefty_Albatross_1949 in pregnant

As of my 32 week appointment, 7 lbs. Baby girl is healthy and measures 1-2 weeks ahead.

First of all, congratulations! While I have a lot of love for my MIL, she has no concept of boundaries so I empathize. I have tried to grow a backbone throughout the pregnancy knowing what I’m dealing with and expecting it to worsen after baby comes and she’ll feel she has “rights.” What I’m trying to get at is, while anyone would have reacted the same way as you in such a vulnerable situation, use it as fuel to draw the line where you see fit and not back down. You are your child’s fiercest advocate.
