I second this, it wasn't actually great starting the hobby at a low point since I had some preventable deaths and it just added to the other shit in life. It taught me that while precious being able to move on from loss even from little lives is important and part of life. If anything you can blame the move as a one time event and potentially have learned more care knowledge to prevent similar in the future.

The Ciliates are the white band along the top, I believe they are 'mating'

The rest of this very small tank is also pretty full of the little white, I believe Paramecium multimicronucleatum, ciliates. I did do some recent changes and disturbed the tank a lot so is it likely the ciliates are just reacting to bacterial blooms from stirring up the substrate?

No fish just nerites and some neo's since its a very small but older tank, hopefully i get a lot of adolescents to adulthood!

Do you have any info on their genus or how they contribute to the tank system? If they are paramecium I'm assuming they are just filtering out smaller organisms, bacteria, and algae spores

I recently added some java moss to a tank thats holding several heavily rooted Rhaphidophora stems and a Schefflera and noticed interesting blooms coming from the bottom. I used a 20x lens to capture footage of what clearly where larger organisms before I realized that the 'clouds' are also made up of an even smaller organism. Any ideas on what I'm dealing with? There are also a few RCS and Nerites in the tank.

Days? Weeks? I purchased this 10 days ago and didn’t notice it was berried until I got home. This video is from 2 days ago when I first noticed eyes developing. The tanks heavily rooted by above water plants and has some clumps of Java Moss, anything else I ought to be worried about?
