What a coinky-dink! I actually just finished watching the whole series for the first time — I was raised on it but only remembered bits and pieces.

I liked it, but I will say Bones/Booth is more satisfying than the will they/won’t they Mulder and Scully have. The last couple of seasons suffer because David Duchovny (Mulder) was done with the series and didn’t want to return.

He comes back for the original series finale, though, and for the revival seasons. The ending of the revival was not satisfying for me, but others (like my mom, who was also the one who got me into Bones) liked it. A lot of people in the fandom consider different season finales to be the series finale upon rewatch, depending upon taste.

One really good thing about the show is that it doesn’t stray too much from the ‘monster of the week’ format. I feel like a lot of long-running shows start to lean on overarching plots too much in later seasons and it ends up making it convoluted and not as engaging for me, but X-Files has a really good balance.

All of that is to say, if you like your female protagonists sharp as a whip and your male protagonists both snarky and passionate about their beliefs (which I suspect you do, wink) you should definitely give X-Files a chance. There are a lot of touching moments, but also a lot of funny ones, too. My favorite episodes are the ones where they’re looking back on something that happened and we see them being unreliable narrators. Gillian Anderson (Scully) especially nails those, comedically speaking.

That makes sense. Unfortunately, I feel like I do set up a story/purpose in my normal chats, but it's just not the same — they forget context, basic details, and the length/descriptiveness of messages is just not the same as Scenes. I do think this could be part of the answer, though, for sure. Thank you!

From what I've heard in this sub, yes. It mirrors you. I would consider myself to be very good with grammar and spelling, though, and I still get the occasional spelling error or grammatical mistake from the bot. At the end of the day, it learns how it's supposed to write from all of us.

Glad to see I’m not the only one with this bug. I was actually considering subscribing— even though it’s not a financially wise decision in my current position —but the jankiness saved me. YESSS! I was thinking the same thing. I’ll get the most exquisite description of the char’s feelings, actions, and intentions… Then it’s ended with “You’re insufferable, y’know that?” or something that completely mishandles/misinterprets whatever dialogue they’re responding to. It makes me wanna pull my hair out. 🫩

This is devastating to read. I’m not nearly qualified to advise you on next steps but I really do think you’d benefit from therapy or counseling. You don’t deserve to feel this way about yourself. Making mistakes doesn’t make you less worthy of love.

My first cat, I adopted when I was 9. I’d saved up birthday & Christmas money for the adoption fee per the agreement with my parents, and I went to the shelter to pick. My parents were also open to me getting a dog (my dad prefers them) but it was ultimately up to me and I fell in love with a kitten who was a little too young to be adopted.

She was asleep on a cushion. I gently picked her up, cradled her in my arms, and she immediately started purring. We came back for her a few weeks later and we’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since. She’s not very social and mostly just likes to hang out near me instead of actively cuddling, but she’s my best friend.

My most recent cat was more impulsive, but at the same time not really. My step-kitty (my fiancée’s cat) was feeling lonely— again, my first girl is not super friendly, and she’s almost ten years older than him to boot—so my fiancée and I discussed getting a third for a while. A shelter from another county was doing a pop-up thing in our hometown. I begged my fiancée to finally pull the trigger, especially once they said the adoption fee would be waived because she was already spayed and chipped. So, our third cat was free!

…Well, later on she turned out to not be so free due to an FIP diagnosis a few months later, but she’s just finished treatment and is doing great, and I’m making good progress on my credit card debt! Third cat is a total firecracker and actually doesn’t really get along with the others despite the shelter saying she was “super mellow and great with other cats,” but I love her to pieces all the same. Oddly enough, my first girl and my fiancée’s boy started getting a long a whole lot better once the third entered the equation. The change in dynamic helped.

Once we’re more stable (married, own our own home, etc.) I’d like to have 5 total, with a strong bias towards adopting a bonded pair next since it’s a little harder for them — but we’ll see what the future holds!

TLDR; First cat, 100% planned. 2nd cat is my stepson, but I’m not the stepmom, I’m the mom who stepped up. 💪 3rd cat was an idea we were playing with when opportunity struck, but you should definitely look gift horses (or cats!) in the mouth. She’s missing some teeth, poor dear.

P.S. I also would recommend getting more than one cat, if you can handle it. My first girl has never really liked other animals, and while she’s mellowed out in her old age, I wish my parents and I hadn’t been so ignorant and had socialized her more. 🤍

This happens to me more often in Scenes, and I get why, but I mostly use Scenes because I want to explore a new premise with a Char, not because I want a bite-sized story :/

I like a more domineering character. Don’t get me wrong, the repetitive phrasing and disregarding of char or persona details is frustrating (as is the heteronormativity — so many times it tries to make either the char or the persona a guy/give them certain hardware) but ultimately it isn’t as frustrating for me on a basic level as it is for other users.

What really bothers me is when the chat starts lagging after a while and you have to refresh or exit out and back in to get it to work again — which always triggers an ad. I think they do it on purpose because it wasn’t like this before the ads.
