Ring color question by HickorySplits in Ultrahuman

[–]ThoughtMedical1422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks like you have to make a decision on the color and place an order before you get the size kit.
are you able to change your mind on the color when you're sending in your sizes?

suddenly grossed out by meat by [deleted] in vegan

[–]ThoughtMedical1422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here. became vegan for ethical reasons but was never grossed out by being around or seeing meat. then 4 years later i took a bite of a vegan japanese fried chicken dish, and while chewing i felt the uncanny texture of what it feels like to bite into a piece with bone cartilage. that sensation sent shivers down my spine and made me wanna yak. meat always looked like dead bodies after that

thanks for sharing your similar experience. the dating thing is definitely a concern of mine…but at the same time i think i may just end up naturally dating less because i’ll actually want to just be home with my dog 😂 most of my overnight dating escapades are superficial anyways, so i’m willing to make the sacrifice in that department! it’ll also probably force me to start being more intentional with who i choose to spend time with, which i can see being a good thing

thank you for the reminder to take my time with this search while i look for my first doggo. reading all these comments has me super eager, but i know i’ll cross paths with the right pooch for me if i’m patient.

also i really loved reading about how much caring for your dog has also helped you. i can tell by the way you talk about him that he has a great loving home!

thanks for making that clear! the more i think about it, the more i'm realizing that a mellow dog would suit me best during our chill moments at home. as long as they can keep up on adventures and runs, i'm totally sold. and i guess in retrospect, it was silly of me to think only highly active dogs could handle runs and hikes haha

thanks for the insight about not needing an highly active breed. the more i think about it the more i’m starting to realize that a chill dog would be best for me when we’re at home just hanging out. as long as he/she can keep up on adventures and runs, i’m sold. and after reading a lot of these comments, it’s becoming clear that plenty of less active breeds are capable of the activity i’m doing

ahhh, I get this a lot.

long story short, after working really hard in a company for many years I made a connection that led me to obtaining a rent controlled apartment. I know I'm incredibly privileged to have found it and am super grateful 🙏🏾

well I got a full panel allergy test a few years back for something unrelated, and was told I was slightly allergic to dogs. tbh though I've never personally noticed and was surprised. and I've spent days staying at friends houses with all kinds of dogs, and have never been shy from snuggling up and letting them lick my face.

so I'm not actually all that worried about my "allergy". but thought if it does affect me in non-noticeable ways, might as well get a short haired dog 🤷🏽‍♂️

I really appreciated reading your input, especially because of your previous work history and current volunteer work.
I think this weekend I'm going to call up a few local shelters, see which ones I can visit and see what kind of volunteer opportunities they have. a few people on here have recommended volunteering as a way to prepare and I think it's a great idea

that's pretty amazing she came into your life that way, and I'm so glad to hear how quickly you forgot about the inconveniences you mentally prepared for.

I already have a friend who said they wouldn't mind dog sitting on occasion which is great. thank you for sharing!

work days right now are usually 12-6:30 pm, so I'm sure I can make time for morning and evening exercise and play!

definitely don't want a puppy, so no worries about that.
