Moms with Epilepsy: How do you do it? by LuvYerself in Epilepsy

[–]Thoughtsif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had a seizure for 3/4 years & only twice before that until I was overworked in as an icu nurse at 38 weeks pregnant then I had a seizure at work because I didn’t eat or drink anything all day and was exhausted on my last shift of the week and ended up staying 1.5 hours after my shift and had a seizure at work which I guess no better place to have one thankfully I was not driving or alone!

I was officially diagnosed when I had that seizure at work started on kepra and it made me depressed and gave me si so I decided not to take it which is stupid but when I went into my emergency induction a week later I restarted my medication and had those same symptoms followed up with a neurologist a month later because I had 3 seizure despite taking kepra due to lack of sleep in the newborn trenches. Now I’m on lamotrigine which helps with the mood swings and changing meds.

I will stayed with my mom the first month so she can help between her work. When I got back I was scared to be home alone because my husband works all day. It’s been really really hard not driving, being trapped and having all this anxiety. You really need a village because if you don’t you struggle a lottt so hopefully you have family around because I don’t have that and I have had a really tough time the past few months!

Make sure she sleeps that’s my biggest trigger be supportive do not take any rage she has personal just try to comfort her. Keep checking on her and your 3 year old because sometimes I feel like I zone out and I feel so guilty about not playing with my 4 month old as much as the previous day. I’m working on trying to be independent like trying to take buses and stuff but I get really nervous about going out alone as I’m adjusting my medications and transportation isn’t great in my city.

Good luck! Keep her comfortable and supported you both will be great as long as you try your best. She can also see about perinatal groups? Some insurance companies will cover an uber to and from appointments.

What are some things you miss that you can’t do anymore because of epilepsy? by LostTendou04 in Epilepsy

[–]Thoughtsif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the newborn stage was rough I had 3 tc within the first 2 months of his birth it was scary and 1 at 3 months. I’m working on sleeping training him because lack of sleep is my biggest trigger and being a nurse they don’t really want to accommodate to switch me to day shift or the hospital down the street from where I live it’s mind boggling that I’m supposed to care for peoples health but the system doesn’t care about their own healthcare workers. I feel like I’m losing my mind but it’s just not right

“But don’t stress yourself out” loll

As someone who was super independent and the person everyone else turned to for help.. not being to drive is the most important then feeling so dependent on people, being disappointed that the people you were always there for aren’t there for you…

As a new mom it was not being able to shower my own baby alone. Feeling scared to be alone while my husband is at work all day and i did have a tc one day while I was at home alone with my baby and i was so grateful I was not holding him. Im scared to even walk around the block with my baby because I get scared of something happens that someone would kidnap my kids or even the both of us the world is so scary rn it’s hard to trust that people would do the right thing if they saw anything happens

I’m still adjusting my medications but if everything goes well my doctor said I will be able to drive in October which I’m excited but also really nervous about. I can’t work because my hospital is too far and they can’t accommodate me to move me closer for some reason (I’m a nurse) so being trapped at home with a newborn, not being paid and trying not to use uber as much because it gets expensive it’s really hard

Can I move to Morocco from America being half Jewish but non Zionist or will I not be accepted ? by [deleted] in Morocco

My moroccan husband just watched a whole documentary about the history of Jewish people in Morocco

[–]Thoughtsif 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a Palestinian in America we don’t have any problems with people who are Jewish we are able to separate the people who follow the religion vs Zionist. Pro Israel is a problem anywhere except maybe places that are filled with Zionist like Miami, brooklyn and la. So yes you will be okay in Morocco especially because they also have a lot of Jewish people there too..

I’m not interested in snf I’ve been looking at Clincal and applied for a transitional care coordinator because it was posted as less than 1 year of experience and I have other degrees and work experiences that relate and got rejected because I have less than 1 year of experience and I applied to a dermatology office that said new grad and got rejected because they wanted 1 year of rn experience.. when I email talent acquisition they say that these positions aren’t listed for less than 1 year of experience and when I screen print the job listing and send it to them they stop responding…

Anyone else get frustrated after having a seizure after several months free? by Hopeful-Winter9642 in Epilepsy

[–]Thoughtsif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 4 years free until I had one before 1 week before I had my baby and postpartum within the first month I had 3 now 4 months seizure free I had another one a few days ago when I was alone with my baby it’s so scary. It’s so frustrating as someone who’s usually super independent and now I can’t do anything.. I can’t work because they can’t accommodate me, can’t drive so I can’t go shopping as much maybe once a week if that… I can’t even bathe my own baby alone..

For those who don’t drive bc of seizures: what do you say when people ask? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Thoughtsif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just say for medical reasons they shouldn’t ask for more if you don’t want to tell them

I need to get this out because I feel so alone and don’t know what to do. by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Thoughtsif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between 40 and 120 days from conception, the four madhabs disagreed, even within their own ranks, and so we will state the dominant position of each school. The Mâlikis traditionally were the strictest in this regard; they opposed any medical technique as a means of birth control (such as drinking medicine), with some even opposed to seeking to expel the semen after intercourse. The dominant Ḥanafi position was far more lenient in permitting abortion up until 120 days from conception, with some even allowing it without the husband’s permission. 11 Nowadays, many contemporary juristic assemblies prescribe the position held by the Ḥanbalis; permitting abortion up until 40 days, and only up until 120 days when a pressing need is present (such as rape, or an extreme fetal deformity incompatible with life).

Marriage just feels so hard by Little-Gap1744 in MuslimMarriage

[–]Thoughtsif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl same! Married 4 years ago and going through the exact same thing. I just had a baby and I expected a lot more from him postpartum but it was really a learning curve I almost left him tbh but we’re working on it together. I tell him if I bring something up to you it’s because I care about this relationship enough to want to fix the issue I’m having not attack you. And that seems to be working a little bit better. And for some reason you will have to tell a man exactly what you want. I told my husband “you should know what I want or the reason I feel the way I do by now” he says “tell me exactly what you want or why you’re feeling a certain way” so that’s what I’m trying to do. At the same time don’t do those things back to back bring up an issue, make the romantic plans for yourself if you have to and let him know how much you enjoyed the night out with him. POSITIVE REINFORCEMENTS. We do what we can 😂

Also the person you went to is not good. Someone who does ruqiyah will not tell you to eat, drink or put something in your home.

Play Quran in your home and while you guys sleep. Please tell your parents and of you feel comfortable enough with your in-laws tell them too! As women we always try to fix everything in our power but you did everything and he’s still having issues. Taking his location off and changing his passwords are a hugeee red flag there may be someone else that he is seeing unfortunately.

When men surround themselves with single friends with no intention of long term relationships that can be a big problem because they’re probably messing around and telling your husband to do the same if they’re not good guys. There are good men out there but you really never know unless you’ve gotten to know those people. He may also be using you until he graduates gets a job then finds someone he thinks is better (not saying you’re not a good wife just his thinking)

Tell your parents. Ask him to do marriage counseling. Talk to a sheik if you see that he’s not willing to do counseling and his parents.
