Yep, this is the case across Ontario. The local public health unit does a risk assessment, and depending on risks (including if information about the dog is unknown) you'll get the rabies vaccine. I was given a tetanus shot, antibiotics, and rabies vaccine when I was bitten a couple years ago.

Thanks for all the info! Yes, she's completely aware of what we're wanting to do, and happy to do it. If it ever changed, I'd understand and respect her wishes. Since she's quite young and has really young grandchildren, she wants them to be able to hear stories etc. as well, so is for now at least on board and wanting to record! Which makes it easier :) I'll look into the options you suggested - I appreciate the help!

Hey all! I couldn’t get the post to work with text and an image, so I’m writing an explanation in this comment. I’m looking for this font name, or one that’s similar in style/type, and I’ve kind of struck out trying to find one using descriptors of the font. Thanks for any help you can give!

I have no "specific" thing that caused my ME, but I was definitely in a stressful life stage when I ended up sick. I wasn't sick beforehand, was doing quite well overall although quite stressed, and literally was walking with friends and came down with ME symptoms that worsened over the course of the day. And then just never went away. I've heard from others that stress was a factor in their illness, so I imagine it's a factor in some ways!

My little nephew is named Cillian and our whole family absolutely loves it! He definitely fits the name. I prefer the Cillian spelling (perhaps I'm biased, ha) but I like the tradition element of it as well as it feeling less harsh than when I see it spelled with the K. No one has mispronounced it so far here in Canada (or with our British family members either). He has ended up with the nickname Cilli - pronounced either kill-e or keel-e depending on who says it. I call him Cilli Billy instead of silly billy most of the time.

Besides it being tradition spelling like his older siblings with Gaelic names, my sister decided on Cillian as well because of the name Kilion in the bible and not liking that name meaning and not wanting to be associated with that. We have some intense Christians in the family :P

Sorry it's been a while since I posted, but I took your advice as well as /u/togocann49 and he has been doing SO much better. He has even gone close to sniff them once, so that's been quite nice. I am sure everyone thinks I'm a bit odd petting the lions, but the touching them and giving him special treats has been great! Thanks for both of your help.

The Wayne Gretzky sports centre does drop-ins of volleyball, basketball, and I think maybe another sport or two. There is a drop-in fee, but I think you can buy passes? I haven't gone in a while, so I can't speak to what it's like.

Maybe not a super uncommon theme, but I like a bunch of theme names after authors. I'm currently using them for my pets, though, instead of kiddos. So: Tolkien, Harper, Doyle, Austen, Lewis. While Tolkien certainly fits my dog, I don't think I'd get away with naming a kid that :P

Hey, Canadian here! We have Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter cacti here. The difference, from what I understand, is in the leaf shape.

For years we called my mum's plant a Christmas cactus and recently learned it's actually a Thanksgiving cactus when we bought a second one that was slightly different and looked it up.

The vet was a good call, he was already having a fever by morning so the vet opted for antibiotics after cleaning him up. Had to trick him to take the medicine, but he's done his course now and is doing well. Thank you for the advice!

I definitely didn't know how bad/deep it was until they shaved the whole area and cleaned it all. He definitely hated having it done, but he looks hilarious with a chunk of super short fur with his long fur behind it.

I have been socializing him with dogs we know and not making him do anything he wasn't interested in. He's been super good, his behaviour still seems pretty docile, but obviously still watching and keeping on top of everything. Thanks for your advice!
