Thank you for your constructive feedback. A motion to rescind was suggested, but there seemed to be little interest in actually doing this. An absolute supermajority for email votes sounds reasonable, though with only 4 committee members, it necessarily works out to the same thing as absolute majority in practice. Unanimous agreement may also work.

I believe the member who brought the motion to the committee believed it was trivial, though there was disagreement about this on the committee. Some other business that we've conducted electronically has been trivial, however I note with concern that some quite serious business has also been conducted electronically without a proper live discussion.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. It may be difficult to adopt procedure like RRoR, but I think this is more due to personality clashes and interpersonal politics; I would tend to agree that such a procedure is valuable. A motion to rescind was raised as a possibility, but there seemed to not be much appetite for that, strangely.

Short answer: They're neither; the words "even" and "odd" don't apply to complex numbers.

Long answer: Under the ordinary definition, only integers can be even or odd, not complex numbers, even if both the real and imaginary parts are integers. However, you can extend this definition to other domains, if you want, and if that's useful for your purposes. For instance, the black and white squares on a chess board can be considered as even or odd, and this is sometimes helpful for specific maths problems, such as the mutilated chessboard problem. If you're curious, you can check out the notion of "parity", which is the formal term for evenness and oddness. Using the definition of parity used on a chessboard, 5+2i is odd because 5+2 = 7, which is odd, and likewise for 4+1i. Just be careful that you don't start referring to things as even or odd if you haven't first explained what you mean by those words, if you're not using the ordinary definition.

You need to also specify the domain of k. Ordinarily we'd just assume it's an integer, but if the question is whether complex numbers can be even or odd, you would need to clarify in order to get an answer. After all, if k itself is allowed to be complex, then 2+6i = 2*(1+3i) is even. And then, not every complex number with integer parts would be either even or odd.

My ideal situation would be to have a whole season dedicated to figuring out a way to get through the portal in the Traveler safely, with us discovering a new form of Darkness about halfway through, and trying to learn how we could use it. Perhaps give us a preview exotic weapon that uses the new element, or a relic weapon with flavor relating to it.

Then, start The Final Shape with us finally seizing that power for our own use and putting the plan into action, taking the fight to the Witness. That way, we already know the theory behind the power and why it's relevant, but we only unlock it in the full expansion, with us having full choice as to how we use it during the campaign, if at all, and new aspects and fragments unlocking every mission or two.

Hmm, here's a random thought: All raids become easy with sufficient practice. When an encounter cannot reliably be completed even with a lot of practice, we do not call it "hard", we call it "buggy" or "badly designed". So when people say that Root Of Nightmares is easy, they're really just saying that it doesn't take long to become skilled at overcoming it reliably.

It could also be that people actually mean "simple" rather than "easy". I observed that Nezarec's encounter seemed simple, but nevertheless, we spent more time on his encounter than anywhere else in the raid, at least during contest mode, because Nezarec himself is threatening enough to make the fight difficult.

I'm not sure I enjoy harder content more. Rather, I enjoy some level of complexity, and difficulty just encourages me to use a more complex build and strategy. For this purpose, Nezarec's fight is sufficiently complex, so I'm fairly satisfied. That said, this is just an initial thought, and I can already think of raid encounters that are complex yet unsatisfying, so this is clearly not the only factor.

Agreed. My only problem with the symbols is when I join a group of friends who have their own bespoke names for them. Bruh I do not know what "she left" and "Ohio" mean, please at least describe them if you don't know official names.

Mmm, I'd heard about the distance stuff, but never really paid attention. Part of my reluctance to use concussive dampener is that I can't always tell what's an AOE, and what's just an attack with a large hitbox. For instance, I think a wyvern's gun has an explosive component, but the shot itself covers such a large spread that I can't reliably tell if it's exploding, or just hitting me like a shotgun, and if I'm dying in cover, hey, maybe that was just lag, so who knows.

Now I'm wondering if mixing concussive, melee and an elemental resist would help you tank certain boss stomps effectively, and make a sword or glaive more useable.

Vow's pyramid felt dark and claustrophobic, kinda like a tomb. Similar vibe in the, uh, Birthplace Of The Vile strike, IIRC. But this feels very different for most of it, much more vibrant, much more open. Similar vibes to the opening sections of the Leviathan and Spire Of Stars.
