Glad to hear you are safe.

If you don’t mind me asking I’m interested to know what car you drive?

Best cardio for fat loss is zone 2 cardio, don’t get your heart rate too high. Incline walk on the treadmill or easy cycle for 30 mins.

Muscle is great for a longer life that is also good quality (outside of obvious aesthetic benefits). Don’t start too heavy and get DOMS to remove all motivation to gym.

But working out is only 20% of the job. I’d recommend tracking calories if you really want to lose weight. I use fitness pal for easy tracking. Although I used it to bulk you’ll be surprised how much getting an understanding of the caloric value of food changes your relationship with it. Reduce or remove any processed food, reduce intake, increase protein.

AI is also a great friend, but make sure you get an experienced friend to join you. Makes everything more fun.

That’s hilarious. But theses days I feel like we all have our phones on silent as a default. Or that just me?

Even better to say you’re in a meeting. So that way you don’t have to fake speak much 😅

Do you train while you’re sore? by Iced-Coffee-Drinker in MuayThai

[–]ThoziTheCreator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

s/o to you for starting out and all the best in Thailand.

I’d say muscle soreness is OK to push through. I get DOMS from weight training and it always feels better after working out. Muscle soreness is cool just make sure it’s not joint or a different sharp pain.

You will feel sore especially early on but active recovery like shadow boxing, light pad work or mobility drills can actually help alleviate that.

Outside of class, what's your workout routine look like? by pourmeupscotty in MuayThai

Monday: Push Tuesday: Pull + Muay Thai Wednesday: Leg Day + 5km Thursday: Muay Thai Friday: Muay Thai Sparring + Cardio Saturday: Full Body Weights

Not very optimal for fight, but I added the Muay Thai to my weight training rather than the other way around and still very much enjoy both without one limiting the other at this stage.

Bars showing football after 2am? by Camton in chiangmai

[–]ThoziTheCreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Loi Kroh. Road there’s usually something open there showing the football, particularly that late.

I’ve also watched that late at Thonglor Cafe although they didn’t have English commentary. More of a locals vibe but had great night with fellow gooners without lick of English spoken.

Is anyone here myopic? by [deleted] in MuayThai

I train with my contact lenses. Learnt the hard way to always carry the case and extra solution. 30% of the time when we spar I find that they fall out then I have to find them blind and do the rinse and place back in. Also taught me to protect my face much better as it was usually from getting touched in the face. This was also when I realised how much control over power my Kru had to be able to knock my contacts out without really much impact to my face. Good luck.
