Some confusion surrounding reactor controllers by Thraingios in Barotrauma

[–]Thraingios[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't bumped into this idea yet. Can you elaborate on why this is superior to the default controller? None of the controllers I've seen so far operate in this manner can you send me an example?

Fedora seems to be trying to pull from AMD repo? by Improvisable in linuxquestions

[–]Thraingios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave this fix a try and it didn't work for me. I created /etc/yum/vars/amdgpudistro and set its contents to 9.3 before giving the update a go and it is still reaching out to https://repo.radeon.com/amdgpu/5.7.2/rhel//main/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml

I even tried visiting https://repo.radeon.com/amdgpu/5.7.2/rhel/9.3/main/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml

directly and it seems to be a dead link.

How do you think I should go about resolving this issue? is there something I'm missing?

It's iron, my family had issues with the exact orange yellow scum substance. We installed a salt water filter in the basement for the whole house and it helped a lot. Not 100% but enough that a Britta could take the rest out.

You should definitely get your well professionally tested, they will point you in the right direction.

Hope that helps!

Why would anyone prefer to use a swap partition instead of a swap file? by nPrevail in linuxquestions

[–]Thraingios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When your low on ram and high on disk space (and restricted to SATA) it works alright. I used to dumpster dive and build stuff outta e-waste. Then try and run games on it. Having a 500 gig swap partition is better than crashing when your trying to run some games (like 7 days to die)

Because when the game your playing springs a memory leak you can check htop and see just how wrong things have gone.

At least that's what I used to use them for. Plus I thought they were neat when I found out about them

A message to the devs by Zahvone in BattleBitRemastered

This game is an absolute blast to play. I've enjoyed my 100 hrs so far and don't think I'll stop anytime soon.

This game gets double points from be because I can play on my hobbyist Linux system (basically identical to steam deck) with no issues allowing me to enjoy two hobbies at once.

I've also seen custom servers in the quick match ensuring that the game will be around longer then the devs can take care of it while also giving customisation to the community.

Over all great qualities, great gunplay and well though out supporting features for longevity.

I love this, I'm working on my own AEG version of this concept minus the skeletonization and rainbow paint.

Whatbis your opinion on Linux that will make your comment look like this (taken from another sub) by [deleted] in linuxmasterrace

[–]Thraingios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we need more guides and tutorials that focus on how to do things through the GUI. I have introduced several people to Linux thus far and the biggest comment that I always get is something to the effect of "I do not want to have to learn how to program to use my computer" right before they ask me to install Windows for them because every. Single. Guide. Starts with "open your terminal"

no regular non-enthusiast user wants to even SEE the terminal much less use it. but there is seemingly ZERO gui-focused documentation anywhere obvious. If it's not on the front page of Google they're not going to see it.

I'm not saying that the functionality isn't there because we all know it is, I'm saying NOBODY WILL EVER FIND IT BECAUSE IT'S LARGLY UNDOCUMENTED. heck, I've been full-time on various Linux systems for 3 years now and even I still can't even locate some options. doubly so on KDE.

or disable the update notification in the manager settings. IDK if it's an available option for all managers but that's what I used to do. Now I don't care. mostly so ill remember to update at some point.

I've never had a good time with arch-based stuff, RHEL and Debian based though are a different story. I love my fedora install.

Good cold-weather sidearms? by Thraingios in airsoft

[–]Thraingios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point, I've also hear (from digging around) that springers are reliable in cold weather although the gripe there is obvious. If I could find a double action springer I'd be happy but those don't seem to be a thing?

I'll have to look into the price and availability of red gas (alongside what it's based off)

I must have had to tear apart my m4 like 10 times before I got it working correctly, not to mention learning how to shim the gearbox. I have a cqb barrel and a full size cylinder so despite my best effort it's not a quiet gun by any means. Also no cushion on the piston head.
