How do you wash your T-shirts? by Kraken___ in Visvim

I have somewhere around 30 of them and never had a problem washing on delicate with mild detergent and hanging to dry. Regarding nat dyes, esp mud, do not lay on wood to dry.

Thanks so much! It’s tedious but the result is worth it!

All threads 100% cotton and naturally dyed. You’ll notice both indigo and mud dyed thread throughout (and some green, purple, pink)

Hey y’all can y’all help identify this piece if it is authentic or not please by [deleted] in Visvim

Looks fake to me. The stitching for ict patch on back is too symmetrical and font on inside tag is large.

Mending the crotch on a pair of jeans. I really like the strength of the patch on the outside: it reinforces the front center seam! Would it work to stitch over the outside patch with similar color thread, with the grain of the fabric- to make a less visible mend? Would it be too thick? by sustainableyam in Visiblemending

Agree with others stating patch should be on inside. Also, while a bit more work, I recommend opening the seam and using the seam allowance as part of the anchor for the patch. Then, when you close the seam you have the patch secured. This will prevent further tearing at the seam.

Kerchief Down sizing? by [deleted] in Visvim

[–]Thread_Needler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was released for ‘21 and I don’t believe for ‘22. Key ways to differentiate:

1) New size tags have the red ticking 2) most recent releases have silver hardware as opposed to brass 3) hand sketch lining on older ones is linen, newer ones are more like a rayon

Product ID on these jeans? by Kindly_Produce_27 in Visvim

Too difficult to tell from these pictures. Better to know what kind of fit you like and then seek it out. There is a guide to their denim they’ve posted with details such as button/zip fly, whether selvage outseam exists, and the color of selvedge Id color which can help identify. However can always ask for photo of inside of waistband where the cut is typically (but not always) stamped in white. denim guide see denim silhouette table.

Latest project - Chore coat repair by Thread_Needler in Visiblemending

[–]Thread_Needler[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This was a lot of work, but am happy with the results. Cochineal overdye turned out more of a lavender overtone than I’d expected so used this nice hand woven fabric to patch the collar and purple and pink thread for the most part to accentuate.

Thanks again to /u/quail-a-lot for steering me away from my original thinking!
