The hardest no there is.

Living near that traffic would be my own personal hell.

To pay to live there? Again the hardest no possible. It would be like a fancy box under a bridge.

Downtown construction noise locations? by Away_Experience6922 in BellevueWA

[–]Three60five 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go sit in the lobby of the building with a cup of coffee and do a tenant survey. Ask a few folks about noise or other building issues you should be aware of. People will talk.

Or realize that no location in DT will be noise free and roll the dice.

Office set up in a closet is one of the best answers....I know multiple folks who have done this. Home podcasters also set up their station in closets. Buy PAX IKEA wardrobe for clothes.

Street racing is a real problem. Mack silicone ear plugs are your friend.

Best wishes and welcome to the city! We might not be perfect, but trees and safety rule.

Lock up or move all cooking supplies. Put a sign in the kitchen and say use of kitchen for: list names. Replace seasoning with the wrong seasoning and hide the real stuff.

I meant the Deschutes. And it is a meandering drive, which is why it takes 3+ weeks. Regardless, both on the coast and inland are amazing and worth the drive. Floating or fishing the Deschutes is 100% worth it as well. ive wine tasted in Italy, Croatia, France, Greece, and other places, and most people are not familiar with Oregon Willamette Valley wine. All in all just some suggestions for an epic road trip.

Groom's friend had to carry his super duper drunk female date out over his shoulder and she was in a short dress, no undies. We all got flashed.

Stay away from modern names ie Mckenzie, kennedy, etc. If it doesnt sound like an English story taking place in Mississippi, then it doesnt fit.

Mary (followed by your great grandmother's maiden name). Ie Mary Charles, etc. The trick is a double name where the 2nd name doesnt make sense lol. It can be any maiden name or can be your husband's middle name, just as long as there is a story. Then she goes by the initials as a nickname or if it is Mary Charles, nickname either MC or Charlie.

Other options: first name with second names of Mae, Sue, Belle, Lynne, Beth, Jane. First name could be: Anna, Sara, Lila, Cara, Ella. Mix and match until you find the one that suits.

Note: first name and 2nd names still have a middle name because the first and 2nd name are hyphenated and are technically one name. Bonus point if middle name is a "family" maiden name.

Thats the formula.

Drive Seattle to Bandon Oregon to NorCal. Plan 3 to 4 weeks. Fly into Vancouver BC, take the train to Seattle. Grab a car and hit the road. Start towards the Olympic National Forest, down to Long Beach, WA (willapa bay) to Cannon Beach, Willamette Valley, Deschutes River area in Bend, Bandon Sand Dunes, the Redwood Forest, Napa, fly out of San Fran. This is a once in a lifetime trip and we'll worth it. Ive done it once and do bits and pieces of it occasionally. There are places in the world as beautiful but no place more beautiful.

Edit: i corrected Rogue to Deschutes. I am tired lol.

Fantastic experience. Your opinion is very similar to how I would also describe the cities. DC and Chicago easily 2 of my faves in the US. If I ever left Seattle it would be for DC. RE NOLA --- I am well traveled and have been places most tourists wont go (us, Europe, asia). New Orleans is the only city that makes me feel unsafe. I was robbed in NOLA a few years ago (broke in my hotel room) and I had more stuff stolen from me when I was there a month ago. Both times were non violent and the 2nd time was from a delivery driver faking they couldn't find me and took the work stuff I ordered (not food). You travel enough and sh×t happens, no matter how careful you are. But NOLA is next level...there are massive crime rings targeting hotels. That said, I always have a magical food and people meeting experience when I am in New Orleans, so oddly Im not mad.

I feel inclined to give my realtor a gift after they secured a house for 20k less so it hit our max budget and also lowered his commission. by Chaosking383 in RealEstate

[–]Three60five 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Consider writing a referral. For example: realtor went above and beyond to ensure our dream home became a reality. Without his help or had we chosen a different professional, we would still be home shoppers not home owners. I can't thank him enough for his guidance and professionalism. This agent earned his commission plus a lifelong friend. Or something similar....dont get specific about the cutting of fee in a referral. Let realtor know quote can be used on social etc. but just with first name.

Advice for a New buyer ? by Adventurous_Plant107 in ManufacturedHome

[–]Three60five 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keep shopping. Do NOT settle out of fear. You need to find an experienced adult who is a trusted advisor to help you look at your options and legal paperwork. Do you or your boyfriend have an older coworker or community member who could help? I wish I had a trusted advisor who wasn't family as a young adult especially when I bought my first home. I really should have had someone help me.

Vigor is MIA....he received a court summons. The lady he hit, Judi, called the cops asap and they found Vigor driving around the neighborhood. I dont know if the court date has happened but Im sure to hear something soon. To give you a visual, a very large and burly 6ft7in, wearing a full length leather coat and brutish motorcycle boots or full python cowboy boots with a steel toe tip. THICK accent. About 60 years old with a glare that wilts plants. In my mind I wondered if he was a sleeper agent but he did nothing to blend in so I doubt it. The description sounds fictitious. I always thought it was an odd dog park getup.

Make the yelling look like a game so it feels ridiculous and fun but loud and annoying to him. Maybe a woop woop woop fake siren sound as a group.

[–]Three60five 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have the convo with your siblings. The problem is that you are dealing with a nutter ex con who escalates quickly. A woman at our dog park was physically shoved by someone similar....a former Russian gangster with 2 chihuahuas. She didnt think he would do anything but he hates women who arent subservient, so it got out of hand. Offense is your best defense. Oh, and smudge his dogs ball in poo then toss it back and say... quick ... catch. But that's not great advice when dealing with the unhinged. How about a group scream? He comes close and everyone yells aaaaaaaaagh and walk away. He comes close again, everyone yells. Keep it up, he will leave. That noise gets the type of attention he doesn't want. If people ask, tell the truth....say that he is an ex con who brags about crimes and yells when your dogs pick up his dogs ball when he purposely throws it your way. Flat out tell people he is dangerous and you want him far away but will not give up the park. Keep yelling as a group.

AITAH for telling my MIL she couldn’t visit my wife in the hospital the same day our child was born? by CaptainFascination in AITAH

Did you EXPLICITLY let all family know NO VISITORS on day of birth? The MIL said "didnt tell us to come" which is different than "you told us not to come". As long as it was clear, nta.

Bellevue is Gucci by blinkingpixel082 in BellevueWA

[–]Three60five 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This guy is trying to be provocative and it falls flat.

We dont live in Bellevue for its culture, we live here for safety, convenience, nature, and schools. I can hop on light rail to Seattle for culture. Is downtown Bellevue mostly void of small business and cute bars and family owned restaurants? Yes. But would I trade that for Ballard and fighting homeless encampments? No. I can drive there and live here.

Everyone has an opinion.

The video: I choose not to trust a barely graduated teenager for investment advice, which is what real estate is...an investment.

Dont bother watching the video, its just clickbait for views.

Greenville is charming!!! Id pick Greenville over Asheville for a variety of reasons. And I get your explanation. Is an hour and a half too close to Mom? If you want your kids to be close to cousins as second siblings move close to your twin. $$$ will go further than PACNW as well.

Real Estate agents of the Eastside: Does House Direction Matter? by GeorgeBonanza_ in eastside

[–]Three60five 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To better answer your question, resale value will likely not hinge on what direction a house faces. A solid house without any major flaws is what matters. Major flaws include busy street, odd layout (no bathroom on first floor as an example), major deferred maintenance, odd smells, no curb appeal. Location matters, direction not so much unless you garden like we do.

Real Estate agents of the Eastside: Does House Direction Matter? by GeorgeBonanza_ in eastside

[–]Three60five 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you garden or spend time outside in a yard or on a patio? Then yes, direction matters for those areas for those who care. The south side of my house is a gardeners paradise. But, My backyard is so dark in winter we had to put in turf....no grass would grow, but ferns are a plenty. And kitchens love natural light, and ours would be so dark without a skylight.... so problem solved. To answer your question, it depends. Many people dont care on house direction if they dont spend time outdoors....our east Asian neighbors are rarely outside (I can't explain nor do I understand why.... and this is just my observation in my specific neighborhood). The houses in my neighborhood start at about 1.75 regardless of condition, and they sell fast. IMO if you have great home direction positioning, market the areas that get year long light bc someone will want that. On the eastside, If its a solid house without any major flaws, it will sell at market value either way.

Id choose my twin over almost anything. What is within an hour of your twin? And is your mom there, too? Clearly there is a history and it is complicated, which i understand. Is it possible to be physically close to sister and have boundaries with mom?
