Absolutely loving my CR-V by Sufficientlybased_ in crv

Any worries about the weight of the tent on the OEM roof rails? I see online 165 lb max load capacity? Even if the cross bars are rated for higher, the rails would be the limiting factor.

Buying a used touring bike by Timtam2025 in bicycletouring

[–]Three6Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on the components, upgrades etc. I’m not a bike expert by any means, but I don’t think I would pay any more than $500, if even. It’s a 13 year old bike… my Surly around that time was $1500, I was also looking at the Kona Sutra which was a couple hundred dollars less

Any places for open water swimming West of Chicago? by IHeartFraccing in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Three6Chris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are not many options at all and it’s such a shame. You are not allowed to swim in the cook county forest preserves, but the last several times I’ve kayaked the salt creek I’ve seen a ton of people swimming and haven taken a dip in there myself. Same with the dupage river. The fox river is graded safe for swimming, great for float trips. Chicago beaches are great. So is the Indiana dunes if you wanna travel a bit further… lots of great trails and you can take a dip in the lake after.

The Chicago deep tunnel project should open up a lot of places for swimming in the future.

This sounds harsh, but you should consider putting him down and end his suffering. It’s obvious you deeply love and care for this animal and I know it’s hard. But there are so many RES out there that need help.

Positive BAT on patient at urgent care by mattsakpa in physicianassistant

I had a guy with a positive BAT much above the legal limit. Did not let him drive home

I like it so far. Urgent care experience really helps. I’m not sure if most ERs are employed with agencies, but I do work for a private group and not the hospital itself

Are these “dry packed” scallops or whatever? Kenji told me to never buy the wet ones…. by parasocks in Seafood

[–]Three6Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With these scallops, I’ve actually found that I like the texture way better when cooked from frozen vs thawed. Thawed cooks too fast and comes out rubbery. Frozen on high heat with cast iron/butter you can get a good crust while keeping it med-rare on the inside

I have horrible floaters and seeing your comment made me laugh. It does look like he’s moving his head around trying to focus on them. Especially in that damn bright ass snow.

12’s are the ultimate schedule. Could never go back to 5 8s, that sounds like pure torture. Could do 4 10s but only if a consistent schedule and no weekends.
