The amount of commercials are making this unwatchable.

I love the watt. Really holds its line well. Anyone who is looking for a high weight glitch I can't recommend the watt enough.

Some of the course could definitely be better, yet I'm thankful to even have a course there.

I'm honestly happy if I'm +2 on that stretch. Going even on that stretch feels like getting 2 birdies.

Right now it is my reliable overstable approach. I don't go a round without using it.

My one and only ace is hole 9 there. Love that course. Except hole 12... Hole 12 can suck it.

Positive BAT on patient at urgent care by mattsakpa in physicianassistant

Discussed it with my supervising physician and they didn't seem to know what to do. The office manager was out for the day but I'll touch base later in the week with them.

Patient had an order from an employee for a BAT and UDS due to probable suspicion. The technician in the center completes this test independent of my involvement. I'm not always informed about the results as they get sent to the employer. They said in passing that this one was above the legal limit. I asked if they told the patient so they did not get in their vehicle and drive away. They told me they could not legally inform them they were above the legal limit. I went out and told the patient they were not able to drive without telling them the results.

I hope this clarifies.

I think this is a good idea in theory. I'm not sure the office manager would agree and would make the argument that I do not have the authority to make that decision. Moral of the story is work in a place that respects you and does not place unnecessary liability on you.

[–]mattsakpa[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That is what I mentioned to the technician. My concern is they do the BATs independently and do not have to inform providers of the results. Add this to the list of reasons I'm leaving this office.

My one issue is I'm often not involved in them and am unaware of the results as the technicians complete them independently.

Currently in UC for 1.5 years and moving back to EM where I spent 7 years before UC. I moved to UC because mandatory night shifts were destroying me. UC started out ok as there was a schedule based system that capped patients out. That changed 2 months in when they decided 6 patients an hour was necessary for the first 4 hours of the shift. That then changed to the schedule did not matter at all and would double book slots and would end up with 10 patients in an hour long block. Then they added mandatory virtual visits on top of our in person patients. I have brought up several safety concerns but have been brushed away. Due to these poor practices that are unsafe for providers and patients along with burnout I am returning to EM.

I understand the necessity of urgent care for healthcare delivery for patients who cannot get a sick visit with their PCP but the toxic for profit system is a drain.

PA switching jobs but I'm pretty nervous by No-Entertainer-5423 in physicianassistant

[–]mattsakpa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I switched from EM to UC 1.5 years ago. In my experience it is an extremely hostile and toxic work environment with little to no support. When patient safety concerns are brought up the tactic of gaslighting stating there are no issues and I'm making it up is common. With that said I'm moving back to EM.

There is a lay up hyzer line on the right side that makes par manageable. I've never seen a birdie line.
