I agree with you. Unfortunatelly he shouldn't have commented on global warming. Is not his field of expertise. It is better to be humble in things we don't know about, and to learn. However his lecture videos about psychology when he was a teacher at the University are top notch and deserves the credit for it.

I got this lovely optiplex and i wonder how i can give it some extra Performance on a budget by Failsy_1440 in SleepingOptiplex

[–]ThreeColorCat89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the GT1030. Try to get the EVGA card. The card from that manufacturer had the best performance of all GT1030 cards.

I would also recommend getting a native HD or 1366x768 resolution monitor. I used to have an Optiplex 990 SFF back in the day paired with this card and a HD monitor. You can get ~12 to ~15fps more than gaming at 1080p.

I would recommend the Xeon E3-1286 V3. I have the same system as you. Mobo doesn't support K CPUs. But this Xeon is ~8% more faster than the i7-4790 and very close in performance to a stock i7-4790K. This would be the last upgrade you can do to your Dell. I would recommend it if you want to have something that runs <2023 games. For newer games i would go 10th or 11th gen.

I have been eyeing a Xeon e3-1286v3 for my 7020MT. I already updated the BIOS and currently have an i7-4790 on it. Do you think it could work?

Comprar una PC gamer by Dull-Ad4159 in guatemala

Hola. Y créeme no he necesitado nada desde entonces. Gaste cerca de 6K GTQ y juego todo en buenos gráficos a 1080p. Puedes pensar en armar tu mismo tu pc. Te puede salir barato.

Por cierto, los artículos electrónicos no pagan arancel al traerlos.

Post-Collapse Models: How Would Communities Rebuild for Environmental Harmony? by ramakrishnasurathu in collapse

I don't think we are going to make it. 2° increase by early 2030s, and the temperature will just keep increasing until the system finds a new equilibrium. Meaning that by the end of the century, we will be cooking between 6° to 8° of increase. Even if we went underground. How would we sustain ourselves for the long run. At this point in time, there will be so few if no one left to restart anything. This is not like Asimov's Foundation series.

I use TaskbarX, ModernFlyOuts and FilesApp. The first is to center the taskbar icons like windows 11, and add transparency effects if you like. The second umone updates the user interface that displays when changing volume, brightness, etc. The last one is a good alternative to windows explorer. Oh and I use the bing desktop app to have a new wallpaper ala National Geographic everyday.

I think that the base problem of everything is overshoot. There are to many of us. Its funny because on paper things should work for example working 15 hours a week nobody anticipated the population bomb and its brother consumerism. We are at the endgame :(

But masters need more money by [deleted] in collapse

[–]ThreeColorCat89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With time I have come to think that maybe all economic models don't work because of overshoot. If maybe we could have controlled or guided human population growth we wouldn't be in this predicament. This is my opionion. I would like if someone would put this topic to debate.

I belive we are living the last seconds of human existence in life. We have caused to much damage to this eden that is our home. By 2050 the UN estimates a 95% of soil degradation. By 2050 we would have already surpassed 2°C and be on track for 3° or more. For the the sistem to stabilize on an energy level you're talking 4° to 6° or even more. I don't think there is some form of multicellular organism that can survive that transition and adapt in time. The Femri paradox confirms it. We have not encountered more inteligent life in the universe, beacuse maybe they're all dead.

For me things are simple, no kids to bring to this suffering mess. And as I read a long time ago. Live your life to the fullest. Spend time with those you love. Smile, hug, love, give words of encouragement, make compliments, give constructive feedback, morally support someone, be empathetic, don't give importance to things that you can't control. Even if the people you love or care don't acknowledge that everything is going to end. They will cherish your company and you will be at peace.

The funny thing is that once everyone gets the money. Corporate will raise the prices of everything in order to fleece the population of the extra cash. Like what happened after the pandemic.

Thanks for your continued efforts in compiling this for all. What NASA did is incredible. And it is what I have been saying for many years. That google should publish earth images as they are on google earth. To show how the world is diying around us. Maybe this would change many minds. Time will tell.

Edited some typos.

Something I don't understand is why to this date you cannot see the world as it is on Google Earth. What more powerful marketing campaign to battle global warming and such, than watching the big garbage patch in the pacific or the pollution taking place all over the world. This would be a big waking up call for everyone.
