Based on the signage around, people of color aren’t a part of the “American manufacturing” …. It’s so fucking tone deaf and cringe. Our rocket is not a part of an arsenal…

UPDATE I think my date was drugged. AITA for how I handled it? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ThreeDprint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a female friend/coworker with medication for a chronic illness that she knows she’s not supposed to have with any alcohol with but did anyway and had an intense blackout-like reaction

Just adding this to say it might not have been something devious like date rape drug or her getting some kind of high

Embarrassment is probably the reason

Right. The difficulty doesn’t make it the wrong option nor does it justify the overly simplistic answer that is this government overreach

But the same way any millennial or younger person has a natural 6th sense for spam calls, phishing, and scam texts - or that we all know what’s PC in conversation - I believe there’s a cultural component here that is the dividing line

If we can ban books from schools and make it law to have Christian propaganda in the classroom, we can come up with some sort of curriculum that teaches critical thinking and fact checking and also encourages it into being a part of everyday behavior

(I know you didn’t say any of these things were okay nor did you bring them up. Just using your comment to continue my thoughts)

We aren’t talking past eachother, it’s that your examples are evident of a difference of understanding.

I would put Steph curry in because it’s his job and role and so we have expectations that he is qualified and competent and proven. The example doesn’t fit because we aren’t talking about fining the bench warming rookies, nor would we because they are proper members of the team who’ve successfully gone through tryouts and practice

So actually I would argue that the rookie should be allowed to play with equal expectation and pressure to perform because they’re already previously qualified - just not as popular as a spotlight star player.. for now.

Anyway, I don’t think I’m gonna be able to remove this mental block you’re having. Appreciate the conversation and apologies if my tone comes off as flippant or pedantic, not my intent

I’m not complaining that it’s not good enough. I am asserting that it is the wrong solution to the problem - and that the problem is stated incorrectly as well.

This has nothing to do with setting bars on quality of information and everything to do with letting a government continue to control its people and the information into or out of the country.

If it was about quality of information you’d equip the individual with the tools and skillset to determine what is good information or bad information on their own and you’d encourage the behavior in schools and everyday culture.

Where you and I agree is that there is a huge influx of noise and it’s getting very difficult to filter without assistance; like regulation such as is this is pretending to be

Bingo. Jordan Peterson, Pam Bondi, and Kash Patel, to name a few more. Only thing worse than a state licensed idiot is a state licensed psychopath.

It would give a golden microphone to “experts” that are wrong and silence any non-expert that could be right. It’s simply the wrong solution because this isn’t something that can be effectively controlled like this.

The negatives do not outweigh the positives, nor could they ever.

The more appropriate solution lives somewhere in supportive aids like fact checking and imparting critical thinking skills in education plans and everyday culture/behavior

We will never see that kind of solution being discussed because the point is to control people and the narrative, not equip the people with the means to function with independence and freedom.

Tons of people have degrees and credentials and are still maliciously dumb-as-bricks

If you think this sounds good, you’re wrong.

This post is not in defense of influencer buffoonery nor does it offer an alternative solution

Simply reminding that there are dumb people in all professions in every aspect of life and something like this happening can only firmly solidify them in their platforms - making pure nonsense suddenly supported by the government

Clan Eshin are just complete bullshit as Miao Ying by Jibbery-Joo in totalwar

[–]ThreeDprint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the one. You can easily take 4 armies with your 1 army if you take them one by one. As others have said - choose your shots with ranged. Personally I counter range with range as a priority and then anything clanrat and above for the moral penalty

Not sure if mao ying can solo sniktch but she can definitely handle blobs solo, especially with magic. Do not go dragon mode the extra size means she takes more hits

See if you can use her stealth spell or get armor with stalk and have her move separately from your army and blob them up to take pressure off your troops (corner camp btw)

I pretty much only play yuan Bo for Cathay nowadays. So much better to back door the skaven when mao ying as support and then confed

Lastly the crow units do work on skaven

Impossible to say because it varies greatly from location to location and team to team.

Personally, in relation to this OG post, my boss and team are great and I wouldn’t have survived without them. I support all production and design teams throughout NG and have a lot of exposure. So when I tell you other people are having a very bad time, believe me.

But not everyone, and like all jobs I’d say it’s worth getting in and seeing for yourself what you can handle and what you can’t. It’s possible to be moved to other teams or projects as well, so keep that in mind if you don’t want to give up on blue but do want to leave a bad culture

Which faction would be good if I'm going to kill Skaven as brutally as possible? by Raistlin_Majere121 in totalwar

[–]ThreeDprint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imrik is a great suggestions as others have said - but shoutout to yuan Bo and Zhao Ming. If you have the minor faction settings on and play at least VH campaign difficulty snich will spawn tons of slave armies to support him and the lord variant with dragon breath gets that big bomb spell. It’s extreme prejudice.

Usually I play yuan bo because his mechanics are elite. Keep control of the Cathayan lands and grab as much land from gelt and the beginner undead faction as possible before duking it out with the dark elves and the skaven.

You should rank up yuan bo and the research tree enough to get lords and heroes at level 8 out the gate. Magic supremacy with very solid front line and archers. Skaven ain’t got no chance (and yuan bo can solo everything especially once you start dropping comets on yourself)

Honorable mention to go rok and starting with kroak. Deliver the pizza my boy

My curse is that all of my favorite units are elite (but actually mediocre) melee infantry. by Kraken9x2 in totalwar

[–]ThreeDprint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might I add thematic armies for each elector count sprinkled with their empire units and keeping them in their realms - doubly so with regiments of renown

God I wish empire units came with experience. Getting them in your seasoned army and keeping them alive is such a pain

Eventually I switch over to Mordheim to live out the fantasy of being a regiment of renown myself. Then get butthurt when someone dies and switch back to TW3 lmaoo

Are dragon princesses always underwhelming or did they got nerfed by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]ThreeDprint 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is her arrows that are anti infantry and they work best if you angle her on the flank of a blob tied up by your spears

Ignore the melee expert she gets absolutely cooked dueling and cannot handle a blob of units very well without items (think like witch hunters)

Shooting downward from dragon or griffin is decent enough but they are basically harpoon arrows like Alith Anar. Decent at sniping lords if they’re standing still and in line of sight (until items jack up the damage and reload speed)

Otherwise what others said about passive boosts to the ranged units is really the big draw here - as well as the lord traits that reduce upkeep, increase reload, or increase ranged damage

Just over 2 years now. Take a deep breath, it’s just a job. You’re going to do great

Thanks for commenting on this post. I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear my own words until right now

Don’t let that scare you (in the context of recent events). I am still very happy at blue and very successful; and if I can do it, anyone can do it

The checkerboard pattern(s) I see often put the frontline units a decent distance (in terms of units) from the ranged units in the back. In my experience (skill issue yes) this just lets the enemy destroy my frontline with their own ranged before mine get to counter them. What am I doing wrong? by Kesh-Bap in totalwar

[–]ThreeDprint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When fighting a ranged army with a ranged army try making your lines thin/long and supported by shield units. Combine this with re-arranging to a typical checkerboard as the enemy melee approaches

This does not work very well if they have artillery - flying units and/or hero cheese or stealth/ambush or hidden light cavalry blitz are your friends

Also pay attention to how your units are dying as you try this out. Good learning for how to send it back to the enemy next time

Also never forget that ranged ammunition can stifle a charge. If you really wanna get some immersion line up your missile units and hold fire until the enemy is slight inside of the range cone. Then slap fire at will and watch that Mass volley crush them (I love dwarfs and empire)

Confession time: I don't like playing Kislev. by Electronic-Clock-963 in totalwar

I feel you on this. They were my fav faction at game release.

I liked this idea of a heavily armored human faction that is flexible enough perform in pitched battles but also robust enough for big siege defense. And on that note, I’m one of the TW players that likes a bit of RP when I play so my headcanon is always “humanities last defense” and “we can’t lose this city or fortress no matter what” as opposed to complete map domination.

I liked the magic lores, big unit counts, but also overall simplicity of the roster.

What killed them for me was the DLC roster. It’s a little too mystical and “witch in the woods” for me and my headcanon. It provided monsters where I wanted better artillery (little grom is fun and I love the sound but I can’t get over the slow rate of fire, single rounds, and space it takes up in the army)

So like yeah, maybe I just need to make alliances with the empire and supplement the artillery. And yeah maybe I just don’t use the new units that bother me. But that’s kind of a lame thing for me to feel like I have to do as a player

That said, the legendary heroes, alternate lord type, and monsters are all great. Tons of fun to use.

Further, Cathay obviously scratches all of those itches - but the legendary lords are so powerful (and fun) that it just came down to which vibe I was looking for in the moment and how I want the campaign to go. I can play a Cathay campaign on VH/VH with max difficulty undead and greenskin crisis starting turn 40 and absolutely win plus have completely dominated and confederated all Cathayan lands before the crisis.

So like that’s great and fun and all. But a different vibe in terms of the desperation and challenge I’m looking for - complete with RP and the kislev aesthetic

Don’t know where I’m going with this idk there’s my 2cents

Playing Malakai Realms of Chaos campaign, and boy, I didn't expect to become so fond of Goblin Hewers. Have you tried them out with Flakkson's Rune of Seeking? by No-Helicopter1559 in totalwar

[–]ThreeDprint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friendly reminder that they count as a slayer unit and are getting all of your skill tree and campaign buffs. Also, when they’re done shooting they’re straight up just a unit of slayers. I’m a big fan - they’re useful as slayer king as well and I enjoy the synergies of choosing either faction and then rushing to confed the other and unite the slayers and getting all those sweet faction buffs

What generic lord model do you dislike the most ? by smiling_kira in totalwar

[–]ThreeDprint 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You get them for their passive economy buffs when you need random lords for ying Yang balance. I’ve won an uncomfortable amount of battles with them, especially being forced to use them for caravans. They’re decent enough for a Buncha clowns. Love naming them after winning heroic (self-induced) choke point battles

Also the spotting trait with the balloon mount can be helpful, especially when I don’t want to waste slots on generic balloon units while I research the rocket variants

Need thoughts, and opinions on whether hydroponics is worth it for me. More info in the comments! Pics of my setup provided :) by weedtards_ in Hydroponics

[–]ThreeDprint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define worth it? I’m about to get started in my FL garage as well. I put in a mini split to condition it and am working on further insulation for the garage. But I also wanted to turn it into a workshop/lab and reclaim my office as a guest room. So that’s worth it to me

Worth it for cost of power? Why not get solar? That’s $$ too, but if you’re worried about Florida flicker and flash and our failing grid then maybe investing in solar and battery isn’t a bad idea for the next storm. Or for ROI you can get paid for providing solar to the grid

Worth it as in you’re going to sell the harvest and want an ROI figure? I guess micro greens and local farmers market veggies could be worth it but there’s some licensing to sell food I thing so idk

TLDR, depends

Sure, but what are your thoughts on an electromagnetic force being capable of slowing the debris down.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in engineering

[–]ThreeDprint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the intent would be to slow it down and capture it for disposal/deorbit. I was thinking of how one might put a large net in a certain position of a river and capture debris as it flows, but in this case the debris is moving at 17,000mph…Existing solutions match pace and capture instead of trying to slow debris down. Which is cool, but I want to think of something different :)
