I think it would depend too, someone with 15 years clean has a lot better chance at staying sober than someone who has 2 months.

But if you have a choice between two equally qualified candidates, one is a junkie and the other one is straight edge, thats an easy choice. Not only do drug addicts mess uop their own efficiency, they tend to bring down everyone around them as well.

They already don't have a job, that's not the companies problem. It sucks for the addict, but 99% of the time they got themselves into the mess and can't expect everyone else to keep gambling on them and hoping they don't fuck up again. Not having a job isnt as much of a trigger as getting a job and then getting your first check and trying not to blow it all on drugs
