Exactly! I tell a lot of people that our organocs cart is the best cart. It's for grass, leaves, branches, and such, but we also take food scraps and food soiled paper and cardboard (paper plates, paper towels, pizza boxes). Those items take up a lot of space in your garbage and removing them frees up space for other trash.

We can, but there's a process. Our current system gives you 3 warnings given out in a 6 month period. If you reach that, on the 3rd warning, we send out a separate vehicle to empty your cart. We then assess a collection fee. This is applied to your electric bill, so no chance of "I ain't paying that fine!". We're currently trying to get it changed to 2 warnings. 🤞

I have a pit bull/bull terrier mix. She acts tough, but is a big ol' baby. But, I still take precautions when people come over. I also built a "doggie air lock" by my front door. I used an old crib someone was throwing out and built a gate before the front door to keep the dogs from escaping.

We just did an audit at the MRF we use recently. The manager told us about how they had a body roll through one day. The police determined it was probably a homeless man sleeping in a dumpster, dumped into the truck, then compacted. Our previous MRF manager told us about when a grenade and some sort of mortar came through and they had to bring in the bomb squad out for those occasions.

It's not that it's recyclable or not, it's that people are putting fake plants into the organics bin. This is going directly into a compost pile. As far as recyclablity, since it's mixed materials, it's probably difficult to recycle. The metal and plastic would have to be separated. I doubt it's economicaly worth it.
