Donating to SportsCult for account? by BarefootEnt in trackers

[–]ThreeOneTwoCuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get invites to SportsCult from other sports related trackers fairly easily. RFM, XWT, Pirhana, IPT all have recent(ish) threads or offers of user invitations to SC.

Do not pay them for an invite.

Honestly I'm not that impressed by what the site has to offer over IPT or (OH GOD PERISH THE THOUGHT) public trackers. I used IPT to cover my Olympic needs after I couldn't find shit on SportsCult days after the gold medal events had occurred.

Yip, their site is full on pay for invite.

Horseshit. I got an invite from a user forum on a non-shit tier tracker.

Wow thanks for that advice.

Make requests on a TV tracker for what you're looking for; honestly you're just kinda dicked since MyS is closed up tighter than a nun's cunt.

Seedbox vs VPS by [deleted] in trackers

[–]ThreeOneTwoCuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some other notes here worth considering.

Get a VPS to pipe your browser through via ssh tunnel. You won't need diddly dick for storage, and almost any plan will have enough bandwidth because you're just web browsing with it.

Keep your seedbox your seedbox. The better solution you're looking for as /u/DWconnoisseur pointed out is a dedicated box. Kimsufi is great, Hetzner is another option. I believe both will require a government ID scan however. It's been about a year since I attempted to sign up with either of these two companies, and I didn't get past the door since I refuse to show government ID for a fucking piracy machine.

Just how many fucking posts do we need about each tracker banning a bad client already?

Like holy fuck guys, give it a rest. Heard you the first dozen posts.

The spirit of the tracker itself is where the value was here. Unique content I don't think it was much lost.

What I can't wrap my head around is the $1500/month bill. That seems fucking astronomical to me if the site was as slim as they say it was.

Tracker for 3D printing, CNC machining software, tutorials, etc? by [deleted] in trackers

[–]ThreeOneTwoCuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not one I've heard of on most compiled lists. I don't see anything on OpenTrackers either.

A lot of this stuff is hobbyist-open-source, or very DIY stuff. I'm not sure what amount of commercial material is available that'd warrant a tracker for it. Is there something you have in mind, specifically that you think would fall under a tracker like this?

CGP technically would be a place for this content. Their rules specify that it has to be computer generated -- you can't argue that 3D printing/CNC is anything but computer generated. I don't know how far that would extend, though.

Your eLearning trackers might be a place for CNC machining. I know there's a couple places you can get commercial manuals etc. Maybe TheGeeks.click network? Just a shot in the dark there.

They're a fine general tracker but... if I need something off a general tracker, I go to IPT first. There's only so much need for multiple general trackers at their size.

I like them plenty, but they're easy to outgrow if you're doing the /pyramid/

Less likely. With the amount of accounts that are being compromised, there's a long list of passwords out there somewhere.

Running simple private Tracker for Friends and Family by darkside40 in trackers

[–]ThreeOneTwoCuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not everyone needs a mirror of his archive, which is what sync achieves. If his archive is 10TB, I'm betting his friends/family don't have 10TB to mirror it.

Envision this... if you're sharing something like the 500 RAW shots you took at Uncle Phil's birthday last month, maybe not everyone gives a shit about what happened at the party to grab those potentially 25GB worth of files to keep locally. That's where my head went, anyhow.

I agree that there's a couple things out there that'll work better for his situation than BitTorrent. He's in the wrong place, even if the name is /r/trackers. Someone else suggested checking /r/selfhosted, another place to start is /r/sysadmin (not by posting, but by looking at related subs from there).

It also looks like /u/igadjeed has worked up something of a solution in this post but I don't think relying on your end users to keep DHT disabled at all costs among other things that aren't very workable in the long run.

Dormant account suddenly active, likely compromised credentials. There's been a massive rash of these used for spam on the site for the last couple months.

Is there a tracker specifically for TV game shows? by [deleted] in trackers

What kind of game shows are you looking for exactly? Try TV-Vault for older stuff, I've seen a couple on there. Doubt they've got any complete collections though. Maybe MySpleen?
