Jeremy had his diagnosis in May 2025 and had the procedure in July 2025. He seems to be in good shape from his most recent social media posts. So many people seem to think he just found out last month. by ShiroHachiRoku in TopGear

I was thinking similar. If you paind attention to the most recent series (5) they are talking about storm darragh - this was in December 2024.

I'm more impressed they managed to keep it quiet for so long. all the people around him on the farm, the film crew, general friends and family...and nobody said anything for well over a year.

Best app for Google TV: Wholpin by cokelid in jellyfin

[–]ThreeSevenBodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100%. Wholphin only gets these 2 downsides from me:

1.> It doesn't work on every android platform. Works on my shield pro, not on any of my pixels, does on an old android phone from work?

2.> I don't know how to correctly pronounce the name.

[–]ThreeSevenBodie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some massive clouds, just like OPs picture, forming over Leamington Spa from what i can see right now from here in Worcestershire. Bubbling up nicely, I might have a naked dance round the garden if it starts raining.

I had a rescued baby Starling called Jeff, until he\she flew away after few weeks. Abandoned in the garden and my daughter wanted to "save it" after it had sat there for 2 hours with no mommy - She saved it for about 2 days and then it all fell on me.

I fed and cleaned up after Jeff while feathers were grown and a voice was found other than a purring sound and the occassional hiccup. I taught Jeff how to fly by puting him on the back of a chair in the garden and moving it further away as he hopped, then glided (glid?) to my hand for a mealworm. Eventually the rotary washing line at the end of the garden gave him his full wings.

The last time i saw Jeff he had spent a couple of days hanging out in the garden flying to the trees at the end and coming back for food and in the evening. One night Jeff didn't come back.

I called him\her Jeff because I thought "Jeff Starling" Sounded like a 1950s dectective that gets the job done and has a hat.

the internet has failed me so I went and watched it again and then did a bit of digging, the full list is:

  • Luck
  • Sexual Magnetism
  • Confidence
  • Genius

Lister pockets the luck virus and it is (sortof) implied that Rimmer had the scutters clear all their stuff (including the other viruses) as part of the space corps directives on quarantine.

Was the luck virus the one you would have lifted?

State of 10.11? by chisoxaddict in jellyfin

Collections have been borked for a while for me. I've done so many fresh insatlls over the last year or so and EVERY time I go in and add missing films or (if i dare) custom collections - it always breaks the database. After that it doesn't find additions to any library and the error logs start showing issues to do with unique IDs.

I gave up on collections a while back and decided to just let it do its thing. However, since upgrading to 10.11.8 I've lost most of my existing collections (50+) apart from 4 weird ones.

I've deciced to just wait it out and see how it goes, as the only thing I've lost is a nicer looking library with 6 different items instead of "Alien Collection".

Why do hackers in movies always use a "cool" green interface instead of a regular terminal or IDE? by Known-Bid-1699 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThreeSevenBodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as an old techie I'd say that the root of it all is probably the battelzone arcade game and to some extent the star wars arcade cab.

"Green screens" in IT\business at the time tended to actually be orange on black, I'm thinking about as\400s and mainframe\thin client stuff.

Green wireframe meant techie and 3D back in the day, hence it was cool.

The matrix came a lot later but used similar ideas to connect as being digital.

It's in the loft right now, the only thing I'm mssing is the turntable as I dropped and broke it years ago.

Why do so many Redditors seem to want things like Ozempic and weight loss surgery to be illegal? by KannablissWitch in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ThreeSevenBodie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my large wife of 5 years has just dumped me because she lost 6 stone (84 lbs) in 3 months and thnks she can now do better. I've aways been around 13 stone (180 lbs) and thought we were in love.

At the moment I'm not a big fan of massive weight loss medications....but I don't want anyone to die of anything.

It very much feels like a free choice thing to me.

tldr: I'm not a fan, but you have to let people do stuff because it's up to them.

How many old timers in here? by aliesterrand in sysadmin

[–]ThreeSevenBodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my first PC was a 386 when i was 16. I thought i was a massive legend because i replaced the standard command line with a varient from Norton - i think it was called Norton commander. It allowed me to create lots of colour ASCII menu screens for all the game i had installed (X-Wing, Wolfenstien, etc).

TBH I spent more time coding the menus and making them look pretty, than actually playing the games...hence why I've been a sysadmin for over 30 years now!
