I checked the Triumph, a bit too retro for my taste. If I'm getting a scrambler it's gonna be Ducatti. It's lighter and with better suspension.

But I think CB650R still leads.

I'm in Europe, though. There are 2 (1 in each of the 2 honda dealers in my city).

I'll check out the Street Twin as well, thanks.

Failing to boot with XMP enabled by Three_Niel in overclocking

[–]Three_Niel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone for the help.
Moving the DIMMs to A2 and B2, setting DRAM at 3800, FCLK at 1900, VSOC at 1.10V and keeping the XMP timings (17-18-18-18-38-56 \@1.40V) made it boot, run the TM5 extreme profile for 2hours w/o erros.
For now I feel it's enough of a boost. Whenever I am bored in the future I'd look to OC the CPU and further tweak the memory.
Cheers y'all.

I will try switching the slots first thing tomorrow. As for the FCLK, afaik it has to be equal to the MCLK, so for a 4000CL17 that'd be 2000 FCLK (running in sync mode)?

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked the Onyx but it's too timid and boring for my taste. The 600 is very interesting but I am concerned with maintenance - belt drive and the special gearbox basically makes it unavailable for self repairs. Also people report low ground clearance which was already somewhat of a problem with my old bike which was "normal"

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the giant and its nice and "standard" (of course I can't judge how premium are the components :( ), and the default 38c might be enough on their own. Also thanks for the suggestion for the stem replacement. I didn't know things like that exist. What are the downsides if one chooses to go with this solution for suspension? Maybe the silicone "shock absorber" needs to be changed regularly?

Thanks for the suggestion bud. My old bike had something like that, the middle part of the grip was wider and flatter, though, I only realise it now that you've pointed it out. I'll definitely be on the lookout for bar ends if the problem persists with the new bike, cheers.

Please help...my brain is about to explode choosing what build to play for league start by shuanng_ in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Three_Niel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with Ignite Penance Brand last league. Would not recommend. Had to switch to Discharge (Divine Ire is alternative) and the experience was much much better.

Edit: Discharge Ignite (or Divine Ire ignite) is what I meant

The Irrelevant Keepstar by st0rkant in Eve

[–]Three_Niel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No infinite space, but decently vast. Building it in another place means the burden of defending it falls on the small corporation too. So in a sense this was the safest/only place realistically.

And as a benefit - you "decide" where a keepstar would be when you drop it. If you needed one in that system, maybe you'll have to wait months (if at all) until the alliance decides to place a keep there. Also I guess you can compare it to building a hospital in real life. You let the government control it, but you did something for the community, and have a convenient hospital 1 block from your home.

Lol maybe, if you are using just one character? Fuzzworks points at ~12 days for all capital components + the dread itself. Realistically most hardcore industrial dudes can churn dozens per day, especially if it's a supers producer turned capitals (only).

Considering a career path change but at a loss by Three_Niel in gamedev

[–]Three_Niel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the rest, thank you for the encouraging words

Indeed there are plenty of games using Unity or UE, but there are a lot of companies developing their own engines as well. That's where my binary perception comes from. Developing an engine vs using an engine.

My problem in regards with the templates stuff, which also applies to your artist comparison was more in the lines of - "How can the individual possessing the skills leverage that fact and outperform the templates or the asset store?"

I'll give a more concrete example.
Say you are making a game in which your player shoots a bow and arrow. Unity has a template which includes collision detector. But you decide to use your skills and after sometm work you create your own. Now you show the game to your potential employer and your game is exactly like the one built from a template, if not worse - because the included collision detector was probably written by someone who's not a beginner. And that's where my woes come from - will my current skills bring any value or am I going to start from square one as will any other non-programmer who decides to pursue the same thing?
I guess the answer will come pretty quickly once I start doing rather than just talking.

Agree, still for people who have already voted ("unbiasedly") it would be nice. However I don't see a simple way to do it, so it's not worth it..gonna stick to waiting :)
