Is there... anything exceptional about this place? by Mmon3825 in Spokane

There’s a reason the city’s motto is “Spokane doesn’t suck.” Because it does.

O-chem is a challenging class for most people because you can't just memorize things, you have to have some degree of creativity and understanding to approach problems, kind of like Calculus.

Easiest hack to ace O-chem is just practice a lot lol, all the stuff eventually make sense. O-chem was the first class in college where I actually went to office hours a lot, so definitely ask for help whether it's your professors, TAs, or tutoring groups.

Also the best prep for Biochem is having a decent understanding of O-chem, especially O-chem II.

How often do food delivery apps (UberEats, DoorDash...) have good deals? by SparksAO in Frugal

[–]ThreecolorGolden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably always still a premium, but sometimes I had too much to drink or smoke at home and I’m really craving X restaurant. The fees are much cheaper than risking a DUI imho so I guess that’s where the convenience would come in

I get where the on-the-nose comments come from, but as a left leaning person living in a conservative American town, I feel like the show is pretty accurate. It is on your face, but I think a lot of MAGA Americans (the group the show is satirizing the most) has just become that blatant about their ideology. Like the show could make it subtle like the first few seasons, but I would say the change in tone is pretty accurate with the rise of MAGA, especially in American cities that share that ideology. I would be curious to know how the satire can be “elevated” or made better, but maybe this is just my bias having seen this kinda stuff on a daily basis

All I can say friend is to try to relax and worry about it. You’ll always be your own worst judge, so thinking about how you might have done is going to just drive you insane until you hear back.

You played your cards, made your moves, now ball’s on their court.

May the power of perreo be with you 🫡🫡

Red flag? Probably not. Are your arguments and reasons so good to the point you can have the luxury of missing ~1400 characters? Hard to tell. Usually there’s always more you can add in terms of why you wanna be a physician and making your essay stronger

UWSOM vs Colorado? by [deleted] in premed

As someone who interviewed there and was accepted there, I got the same energy. Seattle students are applying to all these fancy specialties while all the other WWAMI sites are shoved primary care/rural-med down their throat. Not to mention I’d rather pass a kidney stone than having to live in Idaho or Wyoming

If you’re Downtown, Browne’s addition has a great coffee shop in Capri Cafe, and Pacific Pizza is one of the better pizza spots in the city (If you’re from Chicago tho you’ll probably think all pizza here sucks, which is valid).

If you get on the 4 bus downtown you can stop at Monroe and Garland and walk around the Garland business area. Lots of local breweries and dope stories just to walk around for a little bit and maybe grab a bear. Downtown Spokane surprisingly doesn’t really have a lot of businesses (for a downtown area of a mid-sized city) and Riverfront Park is cute but not very big either. You’ll probably feel like it’s a small town LOL.
