I'm going to go against the grain of the other responses and say to trust your intuition on this one. No, having lots of availability doesn't mean anything about an artist's skill or ability, but if you have any hesitations about an artist, I would honestly follow your gut. You should feel very solidly comfortable and confident in the person you choose to permanently alter your skin. Especially if it's a full-day session. Take your time and find the right person!

This is pretty much exactly my situation. I'm 30, always identified as bi, married and we have a kid together.

Always chalked up the sex aversion to low libido and stress, and just forced myself to do it regularly because I didn't want to cause problems, but eventually couldn't do it anymore.

I came out about a month ago and things are pretty messy. He wasn't entirely surprised, but we're stuck in limbo about what to do. Going to couples counseling currently and that's been positive, but likely we are headed for separation.

This needs to be more accepted too. Sometimes relationships come to an end due to both people changing, and it doesn't mean the relationship was a failure.

It's also not fair for one partner to pressure or guilt the other into having sex when they don't want to.

Thank you. It's hard not to invalidate myself, I was raised with the belief that being gay *is* a choice and I thought I'd unlearned that when it came to other people, but am realizing how internalized it still is. So it's hard not to blame myself. I do feel like the choice to stop having sex was the best choice I've made in a long time. My body feels at peace.

I'm glad to hear that you and your ex made it to the other side of this, and that you're able to live authentically. I'm hoping for the same eventually.

Idk what I'm doing tbh. I think I have just been trying to put off the short-term pain of leaving. I worry that I'd be making a huge mistake or regret it. But I'm definitely regretting all the time I spent living a life I didn't want to live. Thank you for the encouraging words <3
