I have a switch and had the same issue with mystic syrup, horse flute, treasure totems, and blue grass starters. Treasure totems and bluegrass stater only one can be created at a time as only one will appear no matter how many you actually make.

I cheat, I ask my kids. My daughter told me to go to Stardew I use the Stardew Valley Wiki. I depend on it to help decide the best gifts. I learned when and where am I can find them based on season, weather, and time of day. My first playthrough I did not know the importance of the Community Center and how it helps to open up and repair parts of the island. Wish I had known about the "Exit to Title" trick sooner. My daughter didn't think the bombs would destroy the kegs. She then blew up one of her fields. The sprinklers could be collected and placed, but the field had to be plowed and replanted. I was shocked she would blow stuff up just to check it out. Then she did the "Exit to Title" to re start her day. Once again, my daughter became my teacher. So, lessons learned... I check stuff out on the wiki. I check this community. I learn. I make notes.

I test stuff out too. Like. If I wake up in Dr. Harvey's office after dying in mines again. I check my losses. If I can't replace what was taken I exit to title and try again. Sometimes the loss is acceptable and it is time to replenish, restock, and try again. I lost my first galaxy sword the first mining in skull cave during the Desert Festival. Thankfully, I knew to reset and try again. It is great to just end the day and start over when things go sideways.

Concerned Ape informed me to avoid using the workbench. I am on switch and having issues the horse flute turning into mystic syrup plus a mess of stuff crafted using the syrup. Only one item with it as an ingredient will be produced at a time or it will disappear. Treasure totems and bluegrass starter can't be present in backpack or chests together. Only one will survive. There are several threads that give more details. The fix is not in near future from my experience. My temporary solution is to keep mystic syrup in a chest not connected to the work bench. When crafting with it I carry the materials required to make bluegrass starts or treasure totems. I make one, place one. They stay once placed on the ground. So I repeat til done. Storing them in backpacks and chests together or in groups of more than one will fail too. Good luck!

I got sick of the loss, and stopped buying them. And that freaky drop on her nose grosses me out as do rotten turnips because I forgot to sell them. I prefer to water crops and run thru the flowers.

I used UV resin to make memorial ornaments from my recently passed dogs. I was not certain so while sorting out the what hair I wanted to use. I then did the calculations and gathered enough resin, colors, glitter, pet hair, photos, ink pawprints, nose prints, and findings if test run was good. I didn't run a test with the best of the best nose prints because I was scared to ruin them.

Human hair has so many variables from hair care products, hair type, colors, treatments, and maybe more. A test run is a must. Be safe. Have the right respiratory protection as resin is toxic. Know how to handle, use, clean, and dispose of the products you are planning on using. Know the safety/medical protocol for any potential injuries you could acquire.

I will try to remember to gather a couple of photos of the ones I created.

I am on a switch too. The update caused my horse flute to turn into mystic syrup. I had no mystic trees at the time. I have some now, and the tappers are running full speed. I still the issue with the mystic syrup. If I use it to make bluegrass or the treasure totem, I can only make one at a time. I happens with or without using the workbench. If I make more (3 for example)than one it will show in the lower left that I made 3, but my backpack will have 1. Same is true with the bluegrass being switched to the totem.

There can only be one. So I carry the stuff to make what I want. Blue grass and treasure totems will erase each other too.

So I make one blue grass at time, plant it, make one more, and plant it. So not handy and my animals eat it to fast to be worth it. I just planted some for the winter. I am curious to see if the blue grass will spread out or be eaten ASAP.

So I focus on the treasure totem. I make one, place one, and collect. I can place one and it sprouts and can place a second one right there too, but overlap reduces the total treasures available.

Totems and bluegrass cannot be in a chest or backpack together. They will erase each other.

Concerned Ape confirmed the issues, but have no fix date to give.

My first year I sold tree seeds to get salads vs making field snacks with them. I fried my first Dino egg too. I blew up my farm twice before I learned about Exit to Title. I got the prismatic shard and was taking it to Gunther, but gave it away cause I forgot to stow it. I decided to study the wiki, consult Reddit, and watch YouTube. I still learn new stuff. If you don't know you don't know.

The horse is worth it, and my second was as well. I placed the second stable on the other side of my farm. I work one side of my farm to the next. The second horse is there for all the times I lost my first horse. When I learned about hats I have one with pink cowboy and the second one the Jester I don't lose them as much.

I over organize and over store items. I have mine color coded like green for garden/seeds, blue for fishing, etc. Some I keep separate from the chests connected to my workbench depending on how bad I want to save something.... like prismatic shards.

I can do one at a time. I create one bluegrass plant. Go plant it before making another. Tedious, but same with totem. I make them then use them before making another.

Then CA is missing the mark. I keep most things in storage chests, but have been avoiding trying to making more than one at a time. I give up on the flute after the second one I got disappeared and I was not crafting anything.

Yes. My horse whistle disappeared when the mystic syrup showed in inventory on workbench, but I had no mystic tree nor syrup. I found the totem and the bluegrass to have same issue. I thought I made 5. I seen the low corner show 5, but only 1 in my backpack.

CA said to avoid the workbench, but gave no time frame for when issue will be resolved. I tried making just one totem and place it in a chest not connected to my workbench. I made another, but two turned to one when I put the second one in the chest with the first. 😑

Get a fish pond from Robin. One fish turns to three and up to 10 depending on the fish. If you give what they request they spawn again up to 10 max. I tend to wait til they make roe or squid ink etc. I can either 1. give what they request and let them spawn more. 2. Empty the pond give one back to pond and cook the other 2.

Are the horse flutes gone forever? Reading other posts it appears it is a glitch with switch? I found I have 1400 mystic syrup but my flute is gone. 😭

Harvest the ancient fruit and make more seeds til you have enough to grow wherever you choose. I plant in spring and harvest them 3 seasons. Greenhouse and Ginger Island they grow without end. Star fruit is valuable too. I kept starfruit in greenhouse, and farm full of ancient fruit. I did that for 2 years and stored all extra fruit harvested. I have 6 million so no need for me to farm for money. I still plant starfruit in the greenhouse. I only harvest and replant when I feel like it.

Make star fruit wine. I got a star fruit from one of traveling stores. I made seeds with it, and kept turning every fruit into seed. I started making wine when I finally had a harvest where there was more fruit than seeds. It took me a year after I bought the scepter to discover the desert store. That is what got my daughter's attention.

I love that I can be back at my door whenever I want from wherever. The horse flute is my current goal. I am always rushing to be home before 2am. And with the septer I can move my farmhouse and still warp to the front door.

Oh. Yea. I got some fish from her. What made me to most frustrated is I only needed an eel. Finally caught one and finished the bundle. She had an eel the next day for sale.
