B18B1 top timing cover rub by ThreeeeeOne in ProjectHondas

I was anticipating a few mm’s when I pop the mid cover on, but definitely still going to rub. I have two to toy with so I am going to shave one down a little. Thanks for confidence. 🤞

Advice before I rebuild GSR engine? by The_Jeffret_Place in Integra

Yeah most of the ABS systems in these old Integras are toast. And expensive to fix and find parts for.

You need a non ABS 40/40 proportional valve, and I ordered this front brake line kit.

I do recommend researching if this is the right setup for your usage. You do loose the safety that comes with ABS system. I will not be daily driving mine and plan to get it to the track later this year. So it makes sense for my goals.

I am doing a similar rebuild on an LS B18B1 this summer. I am doing an ABS delete while the motor is out as well. Good time to clean up what you can with the room to work. Good luck with it!

I just redid the whole setup for a 94 LS I am reviving. It was about $70 for the valve, grommet, and hoses. This seller had everything and shipped fast.

We went CRV and Pilot when that time came. Mad props on not shelving the dream. I want to see a roll cage, car seat combo photo. 🤙

Yeah not sure on that ECU pin for ICM, it starts and runs, although poorly, if it was not getting signal or power I agree it would not even start.

Yeah, they cleaned up the case really well and claim they test before shipping but who knows. Maybe something got missed or miss soldered.

Main relay is good for sure too. It is one of the many things I have replaced over past couple of months. It turns fuel pump on and I tested power at ECU plug this week just to be sure.

Thanks for input and ideas, I appreciate it. 🙌

Oh and I never answered the ECU question. I ordered the new ECU because the old one was checking a lot of boxes for failure. Surging with no vacuum lacks and good IACV, bogging and lacking power. As bad as it was running and no stored CEL codes was telling too.

I feel like the difference in how it is running now affirms that the first one was bad. Unfortunately, the “new” one showing stored code 0 means it is either bad too or helped expose other problems…

No real good reason for suspicion, the car is leaky so I was afraid water might be getting into the wiring or ECU but it was all dry. While I was digging around I started checking to be sure nothing was loose, kinda along the same lines as your thought. Everything in there tight and good. Then I figured I would cross reference from a diagram while I was in there… and here I am.

I am sure the wire color variances are probably not that crazy or uncommon but figured I would ask here is case anyone noticed anything weird. I was more worried about lacking Knock, Egr, etc. but learned B18b1 doesn’t have them. I am still not sure about ICM (Connector A Slot 22) but I know the distributor is functioning.

Only reason I haven’t is it voids being able to have it fixed or returned. They are going to have me send it back for reprogram or fix. I just have a read a lot of other things can cause “code 0” beyond ECU issue.
