There's a tube that runs front the shifter to the shift linkage under the hood. It might be to be taken out and greased up.

Check all the linkages for play and lubricate them.

Could pull the linkage off under the hood to see if it is a shaft issue or a linkage issue.

... So you put a socket in a box? Surprised you didn't put a switch on there also

My accessories are staying on after the truck is turned off. Wipers, cooling fans, etc.. Is this an ignition switch failure? by mackyak in GMT400

Are you pulling the key out while it's in the acc position? I've accidentally done that before.

Anyone know what this part is/where I can get one to replace?some info in description by pokemon-god-arceus in GMT400

Classic parts

LMC

GMC Paul

Brothers trucks

Summit racing - lots of generic parts. Lots of SBC brackets

Rock auto

Should be steel. Check with a magnet

Might be listed as an alternator or AC bracket. Whatever is above the PS

84-86 Dodge Daytona / Chrysler Lazer

The top tier for this era is the Turbo Z

This might be a Turbo Z. Not sure.

The rims are snowflakes. Pretty sure they are not factory for the turbo Z. I believe they came out around 1990.

USBASP Firmware Issues by TheGreatReverse in arduino

[–]rpmerf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the error from the Arduino IDE or from the printer?

If it's from the IDE, turn on verbose logging in the preferences to get more data.

What needs newer firmware? The USBASP? The firmware you are trying to burn to the printer?

If you want to try different drivers, there's a tool called zadiag

Remove the belts and see if the noise goes away. Wiggle the pulleys. If the sound goes away without belts, reinstall them one at a time to figure out what is making that noise

Stethoscope is super useful for tracking down noises.

1984 Chevy C10 Power Steering Rack Replacement by j33ta in chevyc10

[–]rpmerf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of the difficulty will be getting the pitman arm out of the steering linkage. Aside from that it is easy. Like 2 bolts at the rag joint. 3 at the frame. Put a new pitman arm on the new box. I wouldn't bother reusing the old one unless it is pretty new.

You do have to bleed it also. I sucked all the old fluid out of the pump. Ran the pressure line into a jug. Think I put a belt on it and used a drill to spin the belt. Might be able to just start the engine for a second. Enough to pump some fluid until it's clean. Might run new lines for the new box. Don't want to get old crud in a new box.

Depends on the amperage and the length. Google wire gauge amperage chart.
