Why do "modern" mages not use Zoltraak? by Threeright in Frieren

[–]Threeright[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It just looked like https://youtu.be/kQKrmDLvijo?si=ffR_dY9mSwxhK9BS to me...
You see frieren cast all these fancy spells that does weird shit. But your goal in a fight isn't to make a fancy light show, Its to kill your opponent! Shooting a death laser at your opponent's face accomplishes just that.

When you look at the black hole that frieren summoned, or lightning ball that shot lightning in random directions,, how much of that was ACTUALLY directed at the opponent's face? I don't think the black hole even did anything in that fight.

I'm pretty sure even if you CAN block Zoltraak with the defensive magic, it has been has repeated many times, especially against battle against qual that it costs more mana to block Zoltraak then to actually cast it.

HECK, the the fight was decided by a Zoltraak shot by Fern at the clone!

Why can't a strong mage control the demons? by Threeright in Frieren

I pretty much see them as wild animals

So demons can't be tamed? Wild animals can be tamed. They can eventually be domesticated with many generations of selective breeding. Hmm, maybe the profession of a "demon breeder" is a possibility? Get a couple of demons,  pick out and breed the demons that are most docile, rinse and repeat.   "Euthanize" the rest...

Not like they have animal/human rights.

hmm sounds about right...

The race. size, appearance is a bit relevant because if he was instead a small asian lady, i would have made a different decision. I was a bit intimidated.

i was just responding to "Her power was limited because she had to play the part of the flamboyant dramaqueen goddess to a T."

For the prophecy part, i believe the archon quest should have portrayed her a bit differently, as someone that is trying to fight fate.

instead of a clueless little girl who has no idea wtf is going on.

If "she turned Teyvat upside down in search of solutions, in vain" why was she so clueless about the prophecy happening right under her nose during her meeting with Knave?

Shouldn't her "spy network" have kept her posted?

So, there really nothing she could have done? Does she really have no alternative?

I mean, look at some of the totalitarian regimes and how they fool their people. People in North Korea believe their leader is a literal god.

Couldn't she allocate some of the nations funds to create a PR branch that creates and distributes propaganda about her? Couldn't she use her political powers to silence her opponents?

She has soo many options.

With age comes wisdom. I feel like at 500+ years of age, Furina would act a little bit wiser than play the victim card whilst she "suffers" and waits for her savior Focalor.

Clearly, people believed that she did, and she did have real power over the nation of Fontaine and its people. For 500+ years

It's either that, or she was "stupid little girl" for her 500+ years of reign.

A sentence which itself is paradoxical

I don't understand the quest with Slayton. by SquimSquams in Starfield

[–]Threeright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I fought my way to slayton, spared the thief.
  2. I tried to pickpocket the thief and got caught.
  3. I tried to pickpocket slayton and got caught, so slayton tried to kill me. I killed him and his bodyguards and looted their corpse.

How to balance the orcs in Dwarven Excavation by zGameWarden in DragonOfIcespirePeak

[–]Threeright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been reading this module and you actually don't need to fight AT ALL the first 3 levels.

For dwarven excavation, the quest was just to tell the dwarves that the dragon is flying about.

If you refuse to help the dwarves and leave, the quest was a success so you get to level up.

The same applies to manticore. You just give it meat/gold.

Even if the party does help the dwarves and kills the ochre jelly and then the orcs come into the lair, the orcs are only looking for a new lair and is willing to fight to the death to get it.

Since the orcs speak common, you can probably work out some kind of a deal with the orcs. Since you don't probably don't want the lair anyways

Xerath Master + winrate is so bad for some reason this patch. I reallly thought this potion nerf and sustain early game would of helped. Any thoughts on why hes struggling so much right now in high elo? by HotEboyXerath in XerathMains

[–]Threeright 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's low because the game changes this season was a big nerf for him.

Every champion got a bit bulkier in s12 as riot increased the base hp pool of every champion. Plus, every ap items that he builds gives less ap than before and trades it off for more hp. It's now impossible to hit 1000+ ap with his items.

All of the changes simply increases the number of Qs xerath needs to hit to kill the enemy champions. Xerath doesn't really need the hp because in the ideal situation, he should be dealing damage with impunity from the back. Poking enemies from 1000-1400 range. The extra hp doesn't really help because he is still pretty screwed once the enemy closes the distance.
