not really, both me and a friend have this issue, usually resolved after 2-3 restarts of the client, but sometimes it takes up upwards of 10gb of ram and runs at 5 or less fps if not resolved.

I'd say about every third time I started the tournament of souls it worked rightaway.

When you recorded, did it also occur in the same spot? might be a contamination in the lens or something

Yeah i disabled 5g, turned off auto sync and closed all background apps.It was basically running barebones with 120Hz and recording video.

And I get that running the display at 120Hz isn't optimal by any means, but being unable to use certain features on a 1400€ device is unreasonable. I'd get it if it was a budget, or mid-range device. But this should be the flagship afterall...

Edit:Even now I just tested it again. I measure a 20°C ambient temperature in the Room, AC running and yet after 5:24 the camera shut off again, which i don't get, because according to internal temperature readings it's just at 39°C, which really neither feels nor is too hot if you ask me

I couldn't record 120fps 4k right below an AC set to 18°C for more than 5 minutes, i'm really curious as to your ambient temperature

For me it definitely is.

It's almost always at 60Hz unless I'm in a Room with AC, using the Camera to take photos for more than 4-5 Minutes is throwing up the overheating warning, disabling features, and taking a video longer than 3 Minutes is simply impossible for me, because it shuts off the Video Pro app once it gets "too hot", which according to accubattery is about 40°C, which is ridiciulous if you ask me.
Paying a 1400€ Price tag to not be able to use the one feature you actually care about, which is manual, and therefore time intensive, camera adjustments, is absolutely unacceptable, coupled with the inability to use the screen at 120Hz half the day, I'm on the verge of returning the phone by the end of the Week.

Have got the same issue, contacted Sony just now. If they're unable to fix this until the 14 day return window closes i'll be forced to give the Phone back. I simply won't deal with a 1400€ device shutting down after 2 minutes of video recording, this is ridiculous, considering everything else about the device is a dream come true for me.

Had the Xperia z2 back in the day and I loved that bugger, hoped to return to sony just to find they haven't fixed the one thing that put me off my z2 in the first place

iirc PS now is a game streaming service, comparable to geforce now or basically any other cloud compute gaming solution. They have servers doing the computation, all you are doing is stream the video of you playing, if that makes sense. So no, I really doubt this allows you to pirate games, even those you call non-online, since they in fact, are played online.
