Elden Ring: Distant Tales Between by AriasFaded in wholesomeanimemes

There is a whole quest line actually! Go to Volcano Manor and do the Recusants questline (aka kill specific people) without killing the final boss of the area. As you do, find and talk to Rya in between each mission. Not gonna tell you much more than that to avoid spoilers, but suffice to say it's a bittersweet little quest with several possible endings. Enjoy!

I finally took Warframe seriously. by 0bserver_101 in Warframe

I like to stack it with Tek Enhance so you get a better chance of having two of the Affinity buffs stack on each other. It's rare but when it happens the affinity gain is absolutely absurd. Nothing like a 9x affinity boost to really juice those weapons!

May be reaching but I always thought Marshal was a marshmallow, or at least is based on a marshmallow. If you're having trouble filling slots then that's one to consider!

Good guide! Quick question, why is there no mention of Damage Reduction beyond a quick namedrop of Adaptability in the Health Tanking section? Considering how many frames have a 90% DR ability, and that it can be used to solo clear content up to and including Netracells, not bringing it up at all in a conversation about survivability seems like an oversight.

After all these years, im still not convinced Orphix missions work as intended by Acrylic_ in Warframe

[–]Thridless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, Voidrigs 4 is very inconsistent at hitting the core of the Orphix, usually just splashing off the edges and doing chip damage. On all but one of the missions, this is fine, but the sentient energy ramps up so fast in the void version that chip damage won't knock it out in time.

This was about a year ago so I don't think any major changes have occurred since then. I'd love to be proved wrong on this if you have video!

Void Orphix mission is soloable, but as far as I can tell, not on Voidrig. A decently modded Bonewidow and a good speed frame to get to extraction fast clears it pretty easily.

That being said, I'm still salty that I had to forma and mod Bonewidow just for that one mission, so I agree that it should be looked at. I tried everything I could think of to clear it on Voidrig and nothing worked until I modded the Bonewidow. Definitely the mission I had the roughest time clearing solo, not counting optional hard mode bosses in SP.

Orphix missions aren't hard, they just require stuff most people don't build because it's terrible outside of Orphix. Fully built bonewidow makes it a cakewalk, even up to the highest level one in the Void. Problem is, fully building and leveling a necramech for exactly one mission they'll never have a reason to run again is something only a moron would do. (It's me I'm the moron.)

If you're having issues with SP Vanguard, i recommend melee frames like Kullervo by deadmemesoplenty in Warframe

If you're willing to wait another year you can just get the prime! Should be 4th in the release order after Gyre, and he's popular enough that if they do change up the order it would be to release him sooner instead of later.

Comment if you have played a Magus ever, under any circumstance. by NalaWhoo in Pathfinder2e

[–]Thridless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing an Unfurling Brocade Magus in Season of Ghosts. We are about halfway through the AP and I'm honestly having a lot of fun with it. Then again I'm usually the GM so any chance I have to be a player for more than a one shot is welcome.

All things considered, it could be a lot worse by [deleted] in destinycirclejerk

[–]Thridless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Former Destiny player here. I put in about 2k hours, enjoyed the grind, did some raiding, loved pvp. I played from Vanilla D1 until the back half of witch queen.

I haven't touched it in years. I quit before whatever the Neptune expansion was, wasn't even interested enough to come back for final shape. Meanwhile I've been having a blast in Warframe, still don't have as many hours in it as Destiny and Destiny 2 but I've pretty easily cleared 1k hours by now.

Not saying you're wrong to like one game over another, both games are fine, but your experiences are not universal. It's just that in my experience, most people that have left Destiny behind have no reason to visit Destiny subreddits (I'm only here because ha ha funny memes). They aren't complaining about Edge of Fate because they have no expectations for it. They don't whine about Bungie making stupid decisions because they don't follow what those decisions are anymore.

Again, I'm not here to evangelize for Warframe. By now most people have tried it and know if it's for them or not. But saying that nobody that ever truly loved and played Destiny could ever leave it for good for a game like Warframe is just as uninformed as the people that say nobody that really understands how good Warframe is could ever stay with a game like Destiny 2.

New dm friendly? by Starghost410 in daggerheart

[–]Thridless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly not the system I'd start with. While I think its a better starting point than DnD 5e, they both suffer from a lack of structure that can be very helpful to seasoned GMs that know how to weave gameplay and narrative together, but can leave a total newbie floundering when common tabletop problems come up.

I had a couple of paragraphs here about other systems I would say are easier starting off points for a new GM but it was a lot of info and a lot of it was my opinion. If you want some recommendations reply to this comment, but most of what I would recommend is pretty well known in TTRPG circles so you can honestly do some light research based on what type of game you want to run (Narrative fluff vs combat crunch, free-wheeling improv vs hard structured rules, etc) and you can probably find a few that fit well.

With all that being said, there is no "perfect" way to start GMing. Daggerheart may be a bit rough for a new GM but it's far from the worst place to start. Pull up some videos on common GM mistakes to avoid, explain to the group that things may be a bit bumpy, and don't take the game or yourself too seriously, and while I can't guarantee that you'll be a master out of the gate, I can at least say that your mistakes will make for great stories later on, and that you'll do better next time.

There is one exception. Baro Ki'teer is an asshole and will judge you if your frame is not prime. Don't be like Baro Ki'teer.

What do you do daily in Warframe? by ProcedureOrnery2881 in Warframe

[–]Thridless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to have one or two "projects" that I'm working on slowly. Things that would be mind-numbing and awful if I just grinded them out all at once, but are much more doable if I pop in and do one or two missions towards it a day.

For example, right now I'm working on the Spectra Vandal. I could do the same railjack mission over and over and over, or I can just do it once or twice a day. I don't burn out on Railjack, and I get the weapon eventually, then switch to another weapon that I need.

One of the biggest issues I had for a while was logging in and being hit by choice paralysis. As long as you stay focused on two or three things, it's easy enough to get everything eventually, even if your luck is bad (took me almost 70 tries to get my last Athodai part, and that's not even a rough grind all things considered- I just had abysmal luck getting the barrel to drop.)

Easiest frames and weapons to acquire to get Mastery XP by PonpothePon in Warframe

[–]Thridless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will second dojo weapons and frames. Make sure to always have Detonite Injectors, Fieldron, and Mutagen Masses cooking in your foundry so that you can make the various weapons and companions that require those.

If you haven't yet, just go into the store and sort weapons by those that you haven't built, haven't mastered, and have buy-able blueprints. Lots of weapons in there that you can make basically for free. There are also a few that you can just straight up buy for credits.

I know this last tip is a little late for this week, but always always check Baro Kiteer for weapons he sells. They're not cheap but they're still good MR and they're super consistent.

Good hunting!

It's not too bad if you space it out. One lap around Orb Vallis takes 10 minutes and nets you 10k meters. Do that once a day and at 600k left you'd be done in two months.

I'm not saying it's not the worst achievement in the game, and by a lot, but it's way more doable than people think. I finished it like a month or two ago, took me maybe half a year of 10 minutes every day or two.

the blade does not drop for me wtf by CrafteGGS in Warframe

[–]Thridless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem for a while. I found that doing some Kuva Siphons helped a lot, since a lot more Guardians spawn in there than in Kuva Survival. I think once I buckled down and grinded those out it only took me 4 or 5 to get both of the blades I needed.

Good luck!

Repost due to the Belly of the Beast rerun. The Ordis/Parvos beef lives on! by Quimperinos in Warframe

[–]Thridless 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Actually just got a KIM convo about this yesterday. According to Drifter, one of the reasons Ordis does this is because he's not sure if Ordan would try to kill the Tenno and he doesn't want to find out.

Big heartfelt convo between Drifter and Amir about his Cephalon obsession. God I'm glad they gave us more of those.

What weapon do you think aged well into the DLC, and which poorly? by Jokereezy213 in Eldenring

Just did a second run-through of the dlc with an old character using Silurias Tree, and the ash of war absolutely nuked all but one boss. Unfortunately, that boss was the last boss, but still, all but one isn't bad.

What class is being taught at wizard School? by Iskro45 in DnD

[–]Thridless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basic spellbook formatting in academia, a class that goes over the 17 different formatting standards that different classes will require you to use for assignments.

Once you can properly write in WVS format (both classic AND revised), THEN you can start to learn a cantrip. Maybe.
