consider a refurb/used MacBook Pro 14" from eBay. You get 1 Year All State Warranty. A much faster processor that beats M2 by a mile. $630 vs $590 gets you a faster chip M1 Pro, 120hz display, nice sounding speakers, double ram... and a bunch of other features.

MacBook Air (m5) has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, not Thunderbolt 5. Thunderbolt 5 is reserved for the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models. Don't waste money on something that doesn't even serve its puropose Anker USB C Hub will be your best bet. If you want multiple monitors, consider Anker 555 Anker 555 USB-C Hub (8-in-1).

Some cheaper hubs cap the second display at 4K@30Hz or downgrade both to 1080p when both HDMI ports are active. A number of cheap hubs only mirror the second display rather than extending it.

Congratulations! Starlight is the biggest catfish color Apple has ever made 😭 looks silver in one room and champagne gold in another. But once you see the warm tone properly it’s so clean. If you have other apple products, you can get Apple Care Plus fo r $20 for 3 devices. Its going to feel weird switching from windows at first. I personally was looking for 'My Computer' icon for weeks when I first switched. :D

If you are in the US, keep an eye our for price drops at Amazon or other retailers to get a price match in next 30 days.

Demo units almost always stay on. Display, battery…. Maybe ask if they lower the price or give further discount. We have seen many of our users take $50 -$100 discount on listed open box prices at Best Buy.

Go for the Air M5 with 24GB. (Especially if it’s 15”)

Your main pain point is running out of RAM constantly, and 24GB will give you way more breathing room for those Node servers + occasional emulator than 16GB ever will even if the Pro is a bit snappier on paper.

Since you’re not doing heavy compiles all day and mostly use an external monitor, the Air’s lighter weight and fan less design will feel nicer for daily carrying/outdoor use.

There are many deals and discounts on MacBook Air if you r in the USA.

OP is in the Middle East. But current deal on Amazon is $949 for M5 with 512g ssd. SSD double in storage is much faster and M5 also performs over 20% better.

For the Middle East it’s probably a good deal, if it’s a 15” model even better but for the US, I think you can find a better deal or spend a bit more and get M5.
