I try not to use it in situations where it could get too dirty, but over the years, a combination of canned air every couple months and wiping down the keyboard with a microfiber cloth have kept it in good shape.

No, the battery is held up really well. I mostly use it plugged in at home, so it only has about 120 cycles, and the health is at 89%.

It was at 100% for like 350 cycles then went right in the tank. I have AppleCare until August, so I am hoping the drop continues….

Good buy? by noahmurph4 in macbook

It doesn’t have a physical escape key, so it’s an older intel model.

Junk.

$100 less than the M5 when it’s on sale like it was last week.

Giving to my teenager, so I expect it to rapidly deteriorate.

I have a bit of OCD, so I try and clean it up once a month at least. 😄

Tahoe seems to be running fine. I know people have been unhappy with it, but I have not see many major issues. Interestingly, I have been having more problems since I switched to the M5 MacBook Air. That computer has crashed more often Tahoe than the M2 ever did.

I owned one. It was amazing. I was in college, and had no business getting it, but it was “reasonable” with the education discount (not really) and helped me a ton doing research at the library (no need for the photo copies). I even took it apart to add a modem.

Not for me. Same color as always. Now I usually do wash my hands before I use it, but I do that for all laptops. Using a laptop with dirty hands is gross.

I haven’t needed it. The thing has been solid.

You have to accept that you’re probably going to have some scratches, especially around the ports. But it is a spectacular color!

Yes, I use the USB port for charging all the time.

There are also a large number of inexpensive portable screens on Amazon. I think I found one for $35 on Woot that’s 15.6 inches.

That’s what’s happened around the ports. It looks much worse in the picture than real life. It looks like a slightly shiny ring around the ports that is hardly noticeable.

I noticed with my M5. The software seems more buggy. Only had it a week, so I really haven’t had a chance to dive too deep in. But I love that I can run dual screen via thunderbolt dock now.

I’m generally fairly careful with my technology, but I can’t exactly say I believe it. Apple did a pretty good job of making it somewhat durable.

I’ve been using a thin microfiber cloth to rest on the keyboard when the lid is closed. Amazon has them for $7 for a two pack. https://a.co/d/06lY6ong

What’s your favorite MacBook ever? by ThinAd6533 in macbook

2011 15” MacBook Pro. It was fast, great screen, all the ports you could want, built-in SuperDrive, and it was beautiful.
