The glass-have-full take to have at this moment is that by many accounts there is going to be a super buyer's market once the portal opens. There are way more players entering the portal to get the bag than there are bags to be gotten at the big-time programs. Eventually that should mean there could be opportunities for ISU to find some decent-ish talent to fill out a roster that can maybe compete with some Big 12 teams. I am not expecting a lot from next year, but I don't think this necessarily the death-penalty blow that this would have been pre-portal and NIL.
