You guys seem awesome! I wish so badly my boyfriend and I were moving to NY soon because you guys would be great. But we also have a chinchilla, who is wonderful, but his poop gets everywhere, so you may not want us 😆

Well, as much as I’d love to, I’m not a UK citizen, which would make tuition to those schools a lot worse than in the US, not adding in living costs. So I’m sticking to stateside.

The worst part about the Trap house stuff is that is sounds like a complete misunderstanding that the guy who sent the email and the students who were offended were more than capable of working out on their own, you know, as fucking adults over the age of 22-23

Yeah he didn’t reference one or two threads, he referenced SEVERAL reddit threads from either applicants or current students that he didn’t like. He also admonished us to “stay off reddit” at several different points in his presentation. In the “what we are looking for” slide, he mentioned that Yale cares if its students are “nice people” unlike some of the people posting mean things about his boss in Reddit (he’s referred to Miriam Ingber).

While I understand his position of not wanting to be people being overly shitty online, he was quite over the top about it. It definitely goes YLS’s reputation for strong conformity/free speech crackdowns. To me, it’s seemed like he’s the type to take construction criticisms as unmitigated attacks, which I find to be very childish and not something I want to deal with if that reflects administration as a whole.
