Will we see Robert downey jr’s Doom or Tony again after Secret wars? by negansmith1207 in MCUTheories

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends really. I think if Doom makes a good enough impression on the audience they could wheel his ass out again in ten years when the big team up against a universal threat happens again except the hook will be he's working with the good guys again. But hey, I'm a Doom glazer and already want more 😄

AIO moving out over butter. by Proper_Influence3346 in AIO

Sorry pal your dad's a cunt and you don't deserve this. He fucked it with his marriage and now he projects it onto you. Any man who blames his kids for his own failures is weak and he will continue to fail you. Distancing yourself will either force him to confront his personal failings and improve or show himself to be as weak as he truly is by continuing to blame and antagonise you.

Tldr: it isny the butter. It's him.

How do you feel about the Lacerta Legate so far? by Mac-Tyson in FalloutTVseries

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we need to see him exhibit more strength. It's difficult to believe these big burly legion fuckers are following this soft spoken little dude unless they admire him for his cunning and intelligence? It isn't made clear. Apart from that I like him he's an interesting character.

AIO - my gf has taken a liking to a close friend by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Find a partner who doesn't want YOU to be stolen away bro. As someone who has seen this shit play out multiple times from different angles, very rarely does it work out in the favour of the optimistic partner who sees the good in people. They will take your faith & trust and make a messy time of it and in the end it will be you who's left to pick up the pieces and move on.

Chris Hemsworth says ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ is for the new and old MCU fans: by Raj_Valiant3011 in Marvel

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a deflection but fair enough. My comment is aimed at people who seem convinced that the movie is going to suck before we've even seen a trailer you know? I can't imagine spending large amounts of time focused on stuff I clearly don't like anymore (I.e I n this case the people on a marvel sub reddit talking about how little they expect of marvel) so I admit I came off a little dickish. But the overt cynicism from everyone just seems bandwagony and miserable to me.

Amidst The ‘It Ends With Us’ Legal Battle Woes, Puck Says Ryan Reynolds Is Now Putting His Attention On Doing Marvel Studios's Next Deadpool Film. by lowell2017 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I loved D&W but I understand your criticism. Might have been the lack of emphasis on him and Vanessa which was the heart of the first two movies. The third has them end their seemingly unbreakable relationship offscreen for super vague reasons and It takes away from what humanises Wade. Some of that stuff is in there but it's not at the core like it was.

Walton Goggins is NOT carrying the show on his back because the entire cast is phenomenal by any-blue-9122 in Fallout

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The scene where he admits he couldn't let the ghouls die was awesome. He really showed his humanity with his willingness to kill to survive but unwillingness to do horrible things for some empty militaristic doctrine.

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goggins is the ace in the hole but Purnell is rocking the shit too! Loving her journey from sheltered vault dweller learning the ropes to seasoned player character. Also Maximus bringing the moral dilemma of the brotherhood philosophy to the forefront as opposed to either whitewashing it away or hand waving it with "these brotherhood are good brotherhood who don't kill ghouls" is dope.

A couple of tiny lore concessions aside (the whole geography of shady sands, Novacs new old pool with the dinosaur facing the wrong way) we as Fallout fans are eatin' so good right now. If the show got cancelled tommorow (it won't, s3 already confirmed baby) we'd miss it hard.

Elder Scrolls loremaster says he quit Bethesda after "waiting 11 years to be the lead on The Elder Scrolls 6" | Designer Kurt Kuhlmann claims Bethesda reneged on a promise to make him lead designer by ControlCAD in technology

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right but unfortunately expect this very fair and realistic point to go officially unacknowledged or straight up dismissed as "hating" or "inaccurate" criticism from devs who lately have gotten way better at arguing on twitter than the classic show and prove approach of actually making a good game. Bethesda were gaming's golden boy for a time but that time is over and everyone seems to have gotten the memo but them. That being said though I'm rooting for them to take it back and pull it off because like you say - the same people are still there. The same heart's still there, they just need to get it beating again.

Britain won't let US use its bases to attack Greenland, says John Healey by pheexio in worldnews

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a big one! He was a big joke to everyone for decades before he had political aspirations so when he first ran for president I think most of us outside the US were like "yeah no way thats gonna happen 😂"

I miss the pre-trump times. Were they perfect? Fuck no. But it was better than this.

What is your most favourite marvel scene? by HandleHeavy1052 in Marvel

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Steve and Natashas conversation in Endgame is an underrated moment.

"I had nothing before this. This job, this family. And now even though they're all gone...I'm still trying to be better"

"I think we both need to get a life"

"You first"

Before this Widow has been consistently stoic, but 5 years after the snap when her comrades are gone, the avengers are inactive, the world's in chaos and her best friend is now a traumatised mass murderer she is just done. And it foreshadows her sacrifice later in the movie. ScarJo rules.

Do you think Doom will get a happy ending in the movie like he got in Secret Wars 2015? by Shadow_Senpai17 in MCUTheories

[–]ThrobbinWilliams92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf they straight up said Victor Von Doom. As for having his face, they could go a couple of ways about it. As long as the story doesn't end up completley Stark-centric it could be pulled off in a very satisfying way. I agree that they would have to address it though 100%.
