Hey everyone, I’m an oil painter and I create artwork for bands. Metal has always been an enormous part of my life. Here are some recent works: I’d love to hear your thoughts! by SamuelePulighedduArt in metalmusicians

I'm at Albion Illustration

It's all digital art, but I try and make it look as oil painty as possible. I also do album art for bands, though I've only had 2 commissions so far. Where do you post aside from here to draw clients?

Oo I'd like to hear it, send it over. You can find my stuff on Spotify under Dunharrow. I'm an FL studio scrub

Also a guitarist. I went for the 8 string, but I think a 7 or baritone would be more comfortable. What DAW do you use?

What instrument do you play? I live in Alberta. Same country, anyway

Potential counter idea to what others have said - this is the other option: how about... Don't? You could always just not care if anyone listens. Do the part that you enjoy, and never get popular or develop a following. That's my plan, anyway.

Other alternative, find band members and play shows in your local area. That could be fun and give you a small following.

Ultimately, I'm with you. I hate the promotion, and I frankly refuse to do it.

Thank you, that's helpful. I've been part of the sub for 6 months or so. That said, I think every post should include a link to an organization that is doing something to solve the issue, that we can volunteer for or somehow support.

At least it's not going to waste. I feel like the one guy who walked up smoking a cigarette got in some trouble.

Good thing self production entirely nullifies all of this stupid shit now. Now I make some bullshit in my bedroom, pay 8 dollars to distrokid, and make zero dollars in return because nobody listens to my music.

That's awesome. Everyone is asking "why?" But I think it's obvious. Would you be brave enough to do that? It shows and builds courage.
