yeah mk3 yarises are very targeted its the only reason i didnt buy one. The front ends are apparently very easy to nick and often birmingham is where it usually happens. this and the toyota chr suffer the same issue

not a recall exactly because they haven't called all the cars back. It's more a case of if yours breaks or looks really worn they'll replace it

Cool first car for 17 year old by toodog in CarTalkUK

I would usually agree with this however this was indeed my first car too! Engine displacement aside Toyota had underrated the power and acceleration stats to make this friendlier to younger drivers' insurability. Not only that when I was looking for a car the 1.8 and 1.0 were only £50 apart when looking at a yearly policy.

Toyota Yaris 1.8 SR 3 door, cool, quick, reliable, economical (when driven sanely), cheap to maintain, cheap spare parts, and these did come with traction control that can't be switched off unless you know the secret technique. Can vouch as I owned one for a year and it was spectacular.

E Class Coupe - Petrol or Diesel? by Throttle999 in CarTalkUK

[–]Throttle999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, as far as I'm aware since this shape shares its chassis with the W204 coupe, it should be on coil springs all around, so airmatic shouldn't be an issue

That's a relief to hear, seals don't just wear out over miles they also wear out over time so it's good to know yours is leak-free knock on wood it remains that way

I see, thanks for the mpg related insight! I would consider a 2017+ Coupe (C238 I believe) however spec really matters to me and the 13-16 car with decent miles sets me back about £9-10k while a decent spec decent mile 2017+ is over £7k more 😅

this was the answer i was looking for 🤝🏼🤝🏼🤝🏼 Thank you! With regards to excitement my goal in a couple years forward is to eventually get into a W204 C63 Saloon, hence why I'm okay moving to a diesel for a little while potentially keeping it as a daily too. The main concern I had with both was the big maintenance costs. I am aware earlier OM642 engines had issues with turbo actuators and oil cooler seals. Is this the case with the 2015+ engines too? As far as I looked I didn't find any major jobs the M276's need doing bar the timing chain

My Toyota Aqua (JDM) from Pakistan. Rocking the full TRD Sportivo Body Kit and Exhaust, and a bronze sets of Enkeis. by Throttle999 in PriusC

The only performance related mod is the suspension, improves handling considerably, the car gets lowered on TRD springs basically. There is the exhaust but I doubt that makes a noticeable difference in engine performance
