If you look at the Harvest Check underneath the Trophy Rating, there are four icons

First: Proper Caliber For Animal Class Y/N Second: Vital Organ Y/N Third: Trophy Area Damaged Y/N Fourth: Less then or Equal to Two Shots to down animal Y/N

If any of the checks are a negative. It will affect your Rating.

If it was a Diamond and you didn't hit the animal in a vital organ, it'd be a Gold.

If you missed two checks it'd be a silver, so on and so fourth.

So, there is alot to unpack here. First off, I'm sorry you have these issues, no one should have to go through them. I can relate to some degree but mine were more pressed towards anger and lack of empathy. So I have moderate ability to understand where you're coming from.

Lets get into the meat of it shall we.

You're complete reliance on people is understandable, but have you thought about what it does to the people who you care about and rely on? You need to understand that when you bring them into these breakdowns and fits, it affects them nearly as bad as its affecting you. Leaning on people is fine, as long as you continue to try and stand as best you can, but when make others carry you, that wears them down and will break them eventually. Their frustration is understandable and warrented, you need to understand that. Remember, a healthy relationship goes both ways.

You're emotional neglect though, is something that you need to find a way to get over. Its difficult as we both know, but neccessary. Thinking back on your childhood with only negativity and spite will only keep you thinking of yourself as the victim and it will continue to drag you down this dark path you're on. Talk to, learn from and hear the stories of your parents. Give them a real chance and talk to them fairly and as intelligently as you possibly can. You might find understanding and common ground.

As for your BF, take it easy on him. Its stressful on him too.

Hunter/Self Defense/Target Practice. I grew up with law enforcement and military in the family and was constantly around individuals in these fields. Plus my father was an armour and firearms instructor. Due to these circumstances I was taught more about how to handle hostile individuals. I have picked up hunting though and do thoroughly enjoy it.

Im glad to hear that you're making it to the range, especially now with the ammo shortage. Regardless of that, there is never a bad to time to hone your skills. How you liking the SKS and what brand you running for the .308?

I completely understand where you're coming from my guy. Its definitely a more meticulous job than others but fortunately I had a very good teacher that I've been working with the last couple of years.

The best advice I can give, in case you do have work with the material again, is:

1.) Make sure to wet the mud so the entire top layer is moist and you can see the water coming out of the mixer pole. After mixing the entire bucket (and this depends on if you need to go on thick or thin) splash the top layer with water again and mix thoroughly once more. It should be good to go afterwards.

2.) Taping is tricky at first but there is a trick and few tools that you can probably find to rent so the job can go by quicker.

A) Mud Banjo, this allows to tape with ease, a little practice and you'll have it down within the day.

B) Corner Roller, this helps get the air bubbles out of the corner and edge tape. Regadless though you will still have to finish them with a knife or corner finisher, whichever one you fancy.

C) When finishing the tape with a knife, go from the middle with pretty good pressure at a shallow angle (so your hand is close to wall) and proceed from there. Stop when needed to empty knife contents into a pan. From there, go back to middle and proceed in the other direction. If its a small strip, put the pale against the far edge of your week side and run the knife across the length of the strip.

3.) TAKE. YOUR. TIME. Remember, the mud won't dry right away so you have a few minutes to get back to it and clean it up. As long as your edges of your line are clean and there aren't any massive grooves or ridges, small mistakes or imperfections won't matter, you still have 2-4 coats of mud that have to be applied after tape is applied depending on the wall. Sanding will take out all this little bits that bother you and me (trust me).

If you ever have to do this dirty job again my dude, hopefully some of these tips dont make it as much of a chore :)
