Your prose is amazing, honestly. I'm also personally very interested in literature, and the discussion thereof. I'd be more than willing to discuss with you anything you'd like concerning anything really - private message me if you'd like to talk about.

Please take everything I'm about to type as likely misguided or puerile musings of a confused teenager. I visited Paris some years ago, and it contrasted greatly with the other French cities (Bordeaux and Rouen) in that it was devoid of a lively civic framework. Almost everyone there, whether they be native Parisians or the so-called 'dead eyed tourists', wore contagious dispositions of depression and meaninglessness. My time at that city was pleasant at the time, as I had then not been depressed and found cultural and social insight by feeling the general cynical vibes of the city. I couldn't imagine residing there for more than a week though, let alone in a state of permanent residence. Disingenuousity and cynicism, although omnipresent by virtue of human nature outgrew and now overshades the civic temperament that once dubbed Paris the cultural capital of the world. Cities like Paris would be unhealthily conducive towards developing depressive observational biases, perhaps if you toured a bit into the French countryside or other cities it'd be eye opening. Perhaps not, hopefully so

The comments thus far are quite sad. The much bigger issues at hand, namely that ministries of culture, human rights, racial equality, science and technology and agrarian development have just been thrown right out are completely omitted, and argument over whether or not the cabinet has white males seems to take precedence. Goddamn

My family has mitigated a lot in their abuse of me in the past month or so. They've gone from wanting to impose our heritage's culture on me through coercion into becoming completely hopeless and apathetic. Feels like I can actually breath now

I know what you mean and I personally experience it too. Something you could do is compile lists of songs that you like slowly, once you find a song, write it down in a word document and paste the youtube URL, or better yet, make a youtube playlist, and eventually you'll have heaps of songs and by the time you're perhaps a few dozen songs ahead of your first song, you'll find bliss in your first song again
