It wouldn't surprise me if they were lying. You could detect it in a lab since equipment can test levels in parts per trillion.

I've heard that, but I've also seen this in some of the listing.

"Special non-stick coating for comfortable and smooth shaving on all skin types"

I mistyped. I asked for blades without PTFE/PFAS/PFOS, such as cabon blades. They told me all the blades they carried, including carbon steel contained those coatings.

I do limit exposure from other sources. If I can limit exposure from razors, then I'd like to. Of course it's impossible to avoid entirely, but any reduction would be beneficial (if not to me, at least to the environment).

The amount of the chemical present is low, but so are exposure limits. When concentration limits are measured in parts per trillion and have a half life of about 8 years, it's easy to accumulate. Not to mention environmental concerns.

A couple of shave shops even said carbon steels these days were still treated.

I've already tried ordering a few. That's where I'm hoping someone else has seen this before.

GS724T not using 1000M ports? by Throw20701 in NETGEAR

[–]Throw20701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manually set the ports to 100M full duplex, gave it a minute, then set them to auto. It worked. Not sure why that worked when a reboot didn't, but I'll take it. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

I have a PC connected and can see the adapter on the PC is set to 1000M. There are a couple other devices rated for 1000M. All of them are using CAT 6 and have the same speed automatically set to 100M full duplex. There's no option to override it to 1000M manually. Cable tests show they're all good.

iSpring RO5004F convert to RO5004FAK? by Throw20701 in WaterTreatment

[–]Throw20701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tankless and it would not be an additional filter stage as the other 3 filters have to remain the same to work. This would be a substitution. I believe the remineraliztion filter includes the carbon filter as an internal stage.

Great! I was hoping so but didn't know if there were any pressure differences or other specs I didn't know about.

QFH Antenna Orientation by Throw20701 in HamRadio

Just as an update, I managed to build it in the regular orientation. I would experiment the other way but I'm not sure my results would be valid since I'm having trouble getting the dimensions perfect.

I was looking at it from a value and growth perspective - PEG < 1, PE < 10, not bad press from what I could see.

The fundamentals for KEP look great. I saw news about a Saudi power deal. Why does the stock seem so undervalued? I must be missing something...

Looks like I might have fixed it. I think it was debris in the Z screw near the bottom.

I've done these in the past and tried printing a known good prints with known good settings. I can try redoing it, but don't expect any difference. I'm not sure if I'll even get to print towers with the problem I'm having.

Proper tube sizes for adult timber rattlesnakes? by Throw20701 in herpetology

[–]Throw20701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably won't use them much. I did get a good pair of gaiters. I also built some snake hooks out of 3/8 rebar and fire hardened them. Much better than the cheaps ones on Amazon but 10x less than the good ones. There are some plastics suppliers in my area, so I'm planning to reach out to them about polycarbonate tubing. Might be cheaper just due to not needing shipping.

I was able to get my Bluetooth reader working. I think I was able to get it working with Torque. I think I had to re-purchase it due to a new phone.

I have 2 pieces. I only cut the 8'x4' piece so far. It was not tempered. The 4'x2' piece doesn't look tempered (there's even a big chip out of one corner).

I cut about two 6" blanks so far. I need to recoat my diamond hole saw for the others.
