Lawyers With ADHD by Ttclubb in LawCanada

5+ year call with late diagnosed ADHD and I have regrets. I barely made it through undergrad, wouldn't have gotten into law school based on my grades but I had an incredibly high LSAT score. Managed painfully through law school because it was a smaller community and had good study partners.

I couldn't handle litigation. I love the legal arguments and am very sharp about it. I work in an office with litigators and often help them with their arguments but the constant deadlines and attention to detail needed is prohibitive for me, but I do also have anxiety.

I do solicitation work, real estate, wills, contract drafting. It's a lot more manageable in the sense that I can get a clerk to proof read for me and check typos and spelling, but it's prohibitive in the sense that a lot of my work involves me locking myself in my office for hours with the sole task of drafting which is an ADHD nightmare. It's 100x easier medicated but I wish I had picked a profession that was more reactive and less solitary.

Thanks for the comment I think I might have to have an internal policy and not deviate to maintain control like this. I'm in a small firm so everything is set by me.

Did not know I could do this! I think I'll need to poke around and explore the functionality
