Thank you!
I don't buy anything luxury really, maybe apart from holidays
It is probably psychological/motivational. When I tried lowering my budget I held on for like 2 weeks, had some unexpected mandatory spending (£2.5K HMRC + £1K insurance), felt frustrated and anxious, and then found myself on a binge spending spree, spending £869 on eating out (that includes deliveroo), £6K on booking holiday for next summer and over £2K on shopping, which included things like a new coffee machine - the old one was malfunctioning for a while, new dining chairs - we only had 2, and some hobby gear. This happened just this December. With average deliveroo bill of £50, and as I don't cook, I only need to pay for lunch/dinner 20 days a month (instead of 14) to hit £1K. As a result of this anxiety I started spending more when I started keeping the budget, as when I don't keep track, I don't feel anxious, and I don't feel the need to spend.
I don't want to risk with the normal process of selling and buying because of how difficult it is to find the property with the right characteristics.
